Reviews for Sofitel Buenos Aires Recoleta

Lovely staff yet tired rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Breakfast food all up to scratch and very helpful, pleasant, and welcoming staff in reception and dining areas. The rooms, on the other hand, are tired and dated. The marble in the bathrooms is stained with brown patches in the shower cubicles and the wardrobes are tiny for those who choose to completely unpack. Bathtub is too small to use except for a child. Location is obviously perfect in the same zone as Four Seasons et al. plus there a cluster of restaurants very nearby, and you can walk to the cemetery to explore that tourist attraction.

Sofitel

The hotel is centrally located. Rooms need updating and are lacking space for clo. Our room had a small dresser and shoe size closet. Shower is as small as on a cruise ship. No storage in the bathroom. Bed was worn out and when I asked for a board to firm up the bed the answer was we don’t have any and no other rooms are available! Terrible service and poor nights sleep. Bar only open in the evening! Can’t get a cocktail in the afternoon. You’ll need to go to the restaurant to have a class of wine or beer. No cocktail there either! Staff are generally good but be careful when having clothes cleaned. We had come off a cruise and our suitcases were left or in rain ( along with 100 others) I asked to have my clothes dry cleaned 4-5 times and they were all laundered. Wool Sport Coat, pants, and shirts dry clean only) ruined! Offered 50% discount off $200.00 bill. What a joke!

Lunch

Our lunch experience was great. Fast and attentive staff with immediate seating. Melody was amazing and provided top notch service. She was very kind and engaging. Lunch was good and dessert was even better. A great option if staying at Sofitel.

Sofitel Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This was an extremely well run Hotel with a very professional staff. It was obvious that they all had been trained very well. We enjoyed dinner one evening. The manager, Ekaterina was exceptional and we hope that the hotel knows what a great asset she is to the company. Our server was Camilla and she was so friendly, so professional, and very accommodating. It was an outstanding experience with them.

Buenos Aires bonus!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We had a wonderful experience at Alma restaurant at Sofitel Buenos Aires for lunch. We had an excellent meal, a true experience of Argentinean beef: wagyu picanha and Argentinean Malbec, delicious! But the best part was the staff. We had Diego, Noelia and Morena. They were great, went above and beyond. Good service, but really happy to talk with us about Argentinean culture, food and wine. Thanks guys!
