Reviews for Landa Hotel

Wonderful building, less amazing location, awful customer service. Give this one a miss.

The location is right next to a major road, and when leaving the main carriageway the entrance will catch you out as it is literally 5m from the start of the exit slip road. The building is amazing, and at first glance it appears excellent. However, our visit was completely spoiled by poor customer service. We let the reception staff know we were vegetarian when we booked a table in the restaurant, and we then advised the waitress and asked for advice when ordering. Half-way through eating our starters we found lumps of pork fat in the soup. We left the rest, and our meals were completely ruined, as any vegetarian will understand. When we pointed the meat out to the waitress she laughed and referred to remembering that we were vegetarian. When we raised this with the reception staff on check-out they also giggled. We were charged for the inedible food.

This hotel is something else. I can’t describe it in words except you don’t expect it on the side of a highway near Burgos. BIG EVERYTHING… castle style entrance, castle style staircase, castle style literally everything. Big rooms, big bathroom, super bathtub and fluffy towels. Didn’t have time to have breakfast but pretty sure it’s delicious. We did have dinner , the lamb is famous. All good and will defo try stay here next time While Passing Burgos. If I were to nitpick I’d say their pillows are awful. I’d invest in softer one. Just saying.

Beautiful building and helpful staff

A stunning building and we were delighted with our room in the tower. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The let down for us was the meal in the restaurant on our first night. We told reception that we were vegetarians and were advised that we would get more choice in the restaurant as opposed to the bar. There was no choice. The garlic and poached egg soup was not outstanding but was the only option for a starter. The main course a ‘panade de verduras’ consisted of steamed vegetables- served with olive oil and utterly tasteless- very disappointing. Indeed shocking for a good hotel to not cater for the increasing number of guests who will be vegetarian or vegan. We chose to eat in the centre of Burgos the next day.

It’s ok for one night, as a stop over but I suggest arrive late and leave early.

This is a weird hotel. The web site gives the Impression it’s part of some estate , but it has only very small grounds and it is not well maintained, and it’s mostly car park. The property it’s literally surrounded by highways. The noise from the highway is continual if you do walk outside, though don’t bother as there is nothing much to see. The few outside areas, don’t flow either. So there is nothing really to do here. Swim, but no walks, no gym, just highways. The restaurant slso opens at 8pm, so the only choice for an earlier meal is the bar with a very limited menu. No consideration for English - menu is only available in Spanish and don’t expect any help with deciphering it. So in summary - It’s ok for one night, as a stop over but I suggest arrive late and leave early.
