We made the mistake of becoming owners here. Don’t ever buy into this franchise as they don’t treat owners very well. So let’s report: 1) place is clean 2) house keeping is good 3) staff is polite 4):beds are comfortable 5) A/C is good…..BUT if you own here and wish to change your locked in annual date, good luck. You may get assigned a broom closet to stay in. Plus, you have all this Mango deck noise, endless massage parlors, parked cars and trucks between you and the beach PLUS they allow the “boat people that come in every day to use their beach and pool. Now,I love boat people but I paid a large fee to be here as an owner, and I get treated like a second class citizen and are pushed off beach or pool chairs when boat people arrive. They don’t have room service after 2pm and phone set in room does not work,

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THE HOTEL. We got ripped off one night. We used the calendar on their webpage to select our days in and out, but they added an extra day and would't refund it. Beyond the booking ripoff, the food was average at best for the price you pay.

(1) Moldy musty room - our room smelled moldy/musty and we combatted this by opening the patio doors whenever we were in the room. But this meant mosquito visitors because there are no screens. The rooms seemed otherwise super clean, but their ventilation sucked. (2) heat doesn’t work. We got cold, and switched the air to “heat” and the room just got colder. (3) prices - everything on property costs the same as in the US. The only difference is that the weather is better in the winter months. (4) we arranged for a private dance lesson in our room, because the hotel’s “Latin music dance” session on Wednesday didn’t happen despite us waiting around 45 minutes and trying to find the activities director. The hotel said they would contact us later to make up for it. They did not, no messages on my cell phone, no messages on our room phone. They then said the person could not enter the hotel unless we paid them NINETY FIVE dollars for this person to be on the property for an hour. VERY disappointing, when we were trying to have an experience the hotel failed to provide. They suddenly said their activities director was available but we prepaid the dance instructor and couldn’t cancel. (5) noise. The hotel is partially behind a large “spring break” type of beach bar, with loud music from afternoon until late night. If you are on the beach directly in front of hotel, be prepared for megaphones from that bar calling out “twerking” and “macho men” contests, on repeat. To sum up: not a 5 star experience.

The Casa Dorada in Cabo San Lucas is our home away from home and the staff have become our extended family. A big thank you to Emilio, Jesus and Chema for taking great care of us while we enjoyed a much needed vacation. I can’t recommend the Casa Dorada enough!

Casa Dorada’s beach team, including Chema, Jesus, Sergio, Emilio (and others) are wonderful people who make sure your experience is perfect. The guest rooms need updating but are clean and comfortable. Hard to compete with the location. Overall, a very nice experience.
