January 13-17, 2025. Our top rating for Casa Dorado is primarily to recognize the friendly staff that we encountered throughout the hotel after a 4 night stay. Our 1st impression upon arrival at 1:30 pm was the bellman, David whom was friendly and efficient in collecting and holding our luggage until our room was ready at 3 p.m. I was using a pre-paid voucher so the check-in process was a bit more lengthy and complicated, but front desk staff Carlos Ornelas & Brisa Puga were extremely well versed in explaining the details, professional and friendly. (I am a frequent traveler in Mexico and at times lack confidence in what I am told, but i was very comfortable with the front desk staff at Casa Dorado). We were then introduced to a woman (Adrianne?) whom softly offered us to attend a 90 minute presentation in return for free amenities. When I said that I did not have an interest, she politely wished us well and to contact her if we changed our mind (she was not pushy at all like most of Cabo can be). The restaurant staff at breakfast were attentive (tips were appreciated); the lifeguard at the gate to the beach is a fun guy, security to and from the beach were polite in asking our room number. Though more likely a 4 Star property, Casa Dorado is quite attractive, very clean, had a comfortable, large room with partial view of the ocean (we were on the 2nd floor so most of the view is blocked by the restaurant/bar buildings on the beach); amenities including billiards, foosball and a small pickleball court. Be AWARE that though the hotel has a convenient location to the marina and town, that the beach bars are in front of the hotel. This was off season so the music & crowd were not too loud and music ended by 10 pm. I did wake to the trash being collected at the bar very early morning hours (I am a light sleeper). A small room negative detail was that only 1 coffee pouch and 2 small bottles of water are supplied regardless of length of stay so we had to call the desk and purchase additional. I did mention to the hotel that I thought that the music at the pool was slightly too loud to relax and/or focus on reading particularly when playing hard rock. They said that they made note of it. All in all, we felt it was a well run hotel and though food/beverage is a bit expensive, we would recommend Casa Dorado during off-season dates to those that want to avoid the beach crowd noise (or highly recommend during high season to those that prefer to be close to the party!!

My husband and I booked this trip for my birthday. I am giving 4 stars because the room we booked was not available with an ocean view. Their site needs to be changed. The description says "Junior Suite with terrace with beautiful views of the sea..." and upon arrival the view was not as described. It was on the first floor with a view of grass, it was dark, and zero ocean view. This caused a delay. However, Jose A did upgrade us to an executive suite at no additional cost with a much better view. Thank you Jose for your understanding when I expressed my frustration. The pool bartender Rafael along with the other staff members at the pool were wonderful. They were kind, funny, and made our experience enjoyable while we soaked up the sun. Blanca was our server for the breakfast buffet and she was also very attentive. During our stay a woman suffered a seizure of some sort and Miguel, including myself and other staff members flew into action to help her. Overall, those who were accommodating and respectful made our stay much better, despite the room situation. Thank you once again to those who were patient and very kind!

Cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for Damian the lifeguard on the beach. My son stubbed his toe very badly on one of the light fixtures by the pool and Damian rushed to my son and provided excellent care to his toe. He calmed my son’s nerves and offered wonderful medical advice to help remedy the bleeding. He checked up on him throughout the rest of our trip. We will never forget Damian and what he did for our son. Thank you Damian! And thank you casa dorada for a wonderful stay. We love this place and hope to come back to celebrate new years 2026!

Worst place ever!! Do not stay here. It was a great place 6 years ago but now has been taken over by 2 story Mango Deck blocking any kind of view. Service was terrible. They did not tell us pool would be closed for private event when we booked. If you are a college student or like loud music blaring all night long then this is your spot. Not for families or for romantic getaway.

Stayed 6 nights, Dec 22-28th, after getting tired of all inclusive hotels. We normally stay at adult only hotels but thought we’d try this hotel after hearing good things. There were kids in the pool but not an overwhelming amount. Our 1 bedroom room was huge! Jacuzzi tub (didn’t use), 2-burner cooktop and small fridge really helped save money. Walking distance to Walmart for a few groceries and close to amazing restaurants and bars (or a cheap Uber ride away if you don’t want to walk in the dark on uneven streets). Wonderful staff, clean place with great dining options on-site too. The only downside was we couldn’t get a chair on the beach as they go fast and a lot of cruise ship people buy a day pass and take most of the beach chairs when in port. I wish they saved some for hotel guests, and they don’t enforce the 60 minute rule around the pools. We noticed a lot of hotel guests would put their stuff on the chairs and would disappear for hours (or not come back the entire time we were at the pool!) Rude! But we would definitely recommend this resort and return!
