Montage Los Cabos

This hotel is beautiful and the service is top notch, however we left after only staying for one night due to construction noise. Nowhere on the hotel website did they mention there was construction going on. We booked only a few weeks before our stay and if I had known that this was going on, I never would have stayed at the Montage. The resort is surrounded by construction noise. We booked a room with a private plunge pool and could not enjoy it because of the sound of jackhammers all day and the beeping of trucks backing up. We even heard it by the beach. We ended up moving to a different hotel down the road and had a wonderful stay for the remainder of our trip. I know this is a luxury hotel with a big price tag, but be prepared to also spend A LOT of money on drinks and meals. Breakfast alone was $200… Before we found out about the construction we stopped by the kids club and were disappointed by how small it was. The staff seemed nice, but they informed us that they “don’t really take the kids outside.” I probably wouldn’t choose this hotel if you plan on taking advantage of a kids club during your stay. The construction adjacent to the hotel appears to be a huge project that could be going in for quite sometime so before you book I would highly recommend inquiring about this.

The service from A to Z was perfect. Beds were comfortable and blackout curtains truly blocked the sunrise entirely. Meals were well thought out with ever visit. The resort was even quiet enough to hear the ocean waves. I felt like family returning for holiday.

You will not be disappointed with this resort. Quality of service, facilities and food is as good as/better than any top resorts in the world. I’ve stayed in Four Seasons, Auberge, Rosewood, etc..all around the world…and this resort and staff are as good and/or better than anywhere I’ve ever stayed. Service was impeccable and quality of food was phenomenal. My daughter loved the Paintbox/kids club. The entire team on the property are first class and will make sure you are taken care of. They genuinely care and enjoy what they do. If you are considering this resort, book it. You will love it. Only minor, minor thing I would highlight - and not the resorts fault - is the beach area is made up of small stones which can be a bit harsh on your feet. But it’s a swimmable beach with great snorkeling.

Caution -- Construction! We left after 16 hours at the hotel. Jackhammers were non-stop...from TWO DIRECTIONS during the day. Management graciously changed our room after hearing the racket from our balcony and inside the room. We thought middle of the property would be better. Nope. More jackhammers, and construction vehicles beeping started at 845AM. We left after 16 hours on site and Management cancelled our remaining 4 nights without penalty. (We went to the One and Only which was fabulous.) Montage is cool venue, nice people, horrible environment! Do not stay here if you want peace and quiet.

Our experience at the Montage Los Cabos was absolutely phenomenal. The staff is so well trained - polite, kind, helpful wherever you go. The service at every restaurant, beach, pool, store we visited was impeccable. Our room was so lovely with a wonderful patio with a perfect view. Our concierge, Odette, was responsive and helpful in every way. The location of the hotel being on the bay is very advantageous as we got in the water and participated in the sports activities. The only downside was the construction on the side of the mountain (no fault of Montage) and many tourists boats would come park in the bay during the day obstructing the view. But provided excellent people watching! We will definitely come back and recommend this hotel in Cabo!
