Great time at Villa Del Arco.

Great views, good food and wonderful employees helped make our experience wonderful. Kudos to Ruben, Fernando, Francisco and Nichola(the name maybe incorrect). The Elite team is the best!! Close proximity to the attractions of Cabo. A calming and relaxing experience!

Great staff, food, spa

I want to give a special shout out to Gregorio and all of the waitstaff at the South American style grill restaurant by the pool. The staff was so kind and friendly and the food was so good. I ate there four nights out of seven ! On the nights that were chilly Gregorio brought me a blanket! He absolutely went the extra mile for me whenever he could. I also want to give a shout out to Adeline, my massage therapist at the spa. Really everyone at the spa was wonderful - so helpful and kind. The hydrotherapy area is gorgeous with everything you would want, hot/cold pools wet/dry saunas, padded chaises, etc, And hibiscus water! The massage was a simple 50 minute relaxation massage but it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life —her hands were magical.

Villa del Arco, the Baja riviera

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Let me start by saying I am not a resort employee, I am a retired executive chef. We discovered Villa del Arco with the help of a friend. She has been here numerous times and said she had a "timeshare". Beware the words time-share. Everyone who tries to talk to you, from the moment you clear Mexican customs, is disguising themselves as anything other than a timeshare salesperson, and my suggestion to you above all else, is to run past anyone at the airport who's trying to "save you hundreds of dollars on excursions". It's a lie. The back of their receipt will tell you, in English, that you have agreed to a presentation which may take hours of valuable beach/pool time from your stay. Just. Say. No. Do not buy a beer or a cocktail outside the airport unless $30 per drink seems right to you. No prices are posted. We did buy a shuttle from "Cabo Seasons" which was fast and direct to our resort, and they are allowed to pick up and drop off right at your resorts front door, in clean, newer, transit style vans, for $92 USD round-trip for two. Cheaper than an UBER or a cab. On to Villa del Arco. The property is a solid 4.5 out of 5 based on its position to the sun. In February the average temp is 73 degrees F with a typical wind of say 5 mph. While the sun is up (and you are in the sun) this feels warm and nice, but the shade feels cold, and the majority of the pool area starts to get shady starting at around 4:00 pm. Unless you are an "Elite resort member", your room probably will have no view of the ocean or the pool, however, the side and back of the property are well groomed by the excellent staff. Access to the rooms from the pool are made easy by numerous paths, and there are privvy accommodations from either side of the pool so you won't need to run back to your room for a pee. They offer studio, one, two and three (I think) bedroom units. We stayed in a one bedroom unit which, if equipped with two queen sized beds, will accommodate up to 6 adults, has a full kitchen with induction type cook top, refrigerator, dishwasher and washer/dryer, as well as two full bathrooms, two large closets, and two medium sized flat-screen TVs (not smart TVs). The rooms are 5 out of 5 for sure, and the cleaning staff keeps it immaculate. We paid extra for the all-inclusive package, since we had no idea if the kitchens or access to a grocer would be convenient for our stay. I wouldn't take this option on our next visit. The drinks and pool food rate a (generous) 4 but the pool service is a solid 6 out of 5, with the resort being perfectly staffed to handle the number of guests which will fit the pool surface. There are three restaurants, one of which is a pirate ship located in the largest of the three pools, nearest the beach. My favorite was the Taco bar which offered my favorite fried sea bass tacos. We didn't try the pirate ship, and the third restaurant was our favorite for buffet breakfast but the plates were always cold, and by the time you sat back at your table the food was cold. The green juice is the bomb! At the buffet, you will be greeted by Gloria. No tip will get you a better or quicker table with Gloria, nor will she forget the order in which you checked in to eat. She was all business until she smiled which made it feel like there was a second sun shining at you. We missed her on our last day (Valentines Day), but look forward to our next visit. Our favorite server in the buffet was definitely Emmanuel, whose attentiveness was markedly superior to the other servers whose names we didn't remember. Shots go out to our pool servers Freddy, Ramon, and Esquival, who make every day at poolside feel like a very posh resort. The best meal of the trip, for me, goes out to the buffet at the Palomar resort next door during the Hairspray show. The flank steak was tender and perfectly cooked, even my vegetarian wife was able to find great variety. I'll note that the cook staff easily altered existing dishes, at her request, to meet her meatless requirements. If this is your first trip here or anywhere in Mexico since COVID, know that prices have gone up, and food isn't cheaper than home. We plan to return next February, and the staff will allow you (members) to pre-order food from Walmart or Costco and stock your cupboards for $35 USD, which we plan to do. Leave your insulated cup, and Bluetooth speaker at home (or at least in the room) as they are not allowed poolside. They will try to offer you membership to their resort, and will trade you excursions in exchange for your time with one of their agents. We were fortunate to have Arturo as our guide, and after answering all of our many questions, and accepting an offer for senior citizens (over 60), we became members. We look forward to spending our golden years here, and I hope you've found this review helpful.

Eduardo at Villa del Arco is amazing!!!

The food was really tasty and there was lots of variety. We stayed at the Villa del Arco and had incredible and extremely attentive service by our favorite waiter Eduardo. He was friendly and enjoyable to talk with, as well as, being professional.
