Was offered a room with view for extra $36.00 a night and it was a view of a parking lot. Could have done without it.

I went to Cali and stayed in the Spiwak Chipechape over Valentine's Day weekend 2025. It's definitely the best hotel I've stayed in when I've visited Cali, so far. It's in the north part of the city, connected to the Chipechape mall. There's a staircase that goes from the lobby to the mall itself. When you're in the mall, you can see the hotel as the common areas are open air. The room I stayed in was a suite and it was quite spacious. Everything was very nice, including a comfortable bed, lots of storage, a strong air conditioning unit (which is needed all year round in Cali) and a nice bathroom. The suite came with a kitchenette type area with a fridge and a sink and cupboard storage. The sitting area had a small sweet shop type dining table and a love seat. There were an abundant number of outlets and a desk in the bedroom. The common areas were very neat and nicely appointed. The hotel had a mid century modern type decor but was definitely appointed with modern amenities. As I stated earlier, everything is open air, including the gym which i found weird. It was kind of cool to work out in the open air, but the gym equipment definitely showed signs of weather/water damage. Breakfast was something to look forward to every day. There was a beautiful, bountiful buffet that was top tier. I definitely think I've found my new base of operations when I visit Cali. I suggest the Spiwak Chipechape.

We saw the hotel owner, an elderly man, yelling at an employee during breakfast in front of everyone, truly humiliating her. Additionally, he has a brown dog that follows him around the restaurant without a leash. On top of that, we have to tolerate its presence, and its fur falls into the food, which is extremely unpleasant.
