Simplicity and serenity await at the Hacienda Puerto Campeche in Campeche on the northern shore of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. This unpretentious member of the Starwood Luxury Collection is comprised of a collection of restored 17th century houses. The ruins of some of the buildings have been ingeniously woven into the outdoor swimming pool, turning it into a living work of art. Savor a swim in this unique environment before indulging in the classic seafood at La Guardia restaurant. Modestly adorned with graceful beds, tile floors and dark wood shutters, the airy, uncluttered bedrooms deliver sublime peace of mind.

We enjoyed very much our 2 night stay. The team goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. Very attentive. Hacienda Campeche has all the facilities you expect from a small city boutique hotel. They organised a special dinner for us at the front porch of the hotel, which was a very pleasant experience. We will come back.

Of all the hotels we stayed in in Mexico, the Hacienda Campeche is a standout. The hotel is in a beautiful location, just inside the city walls but at the end of Calle 59 which is the main street for restaurants in Campeche. The views from the top of the hotel provide a lovely view across the town. It is stunning, the rooms are huge boasting two partner lay down couches in addition to a king size bed. The rooms are sparkling with excellent toiletries and generous shower and basin area. The staff are highly attentive, they are exceptionally helpful and assisted us by providing a hammock inside the room. The turn down service is highly personalised providing pastries in addition to water. The pool is a work of art one, it is a series of arches that one can swim through, some sheltered from the elements some not, but it is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. The restaurant is also excellent, very varied with local dishes from across the region and lovingly prepared with a view out onto the pool at night. The breakfasts are also excellent and definitely worth having. If I return to Campeche, would have no hesitation to stay here again.

This hotel is not actually a hacienda, but a nicely executed cloister within the walls of historic Campeche. It’s probably one of the 2-3 best hotels in Campeche—I would characterize it as a “four star” hotel. It has well-appointed old rooms with character, and quiet, picturesque gardens. The location is great, located at one end of the main restaurant corridor in the old town. The hotel has some parking out front. We did not try the hotel restaurant. The swimming pool is clever, but maybe too clever and hard to keep clean. Indeed, the pool is too popular with the local birds, and there’s a guano problem both in the pool and on the walls of the pool area. The pool area and its maintenance deserves a rethink, but if you’re not planning to swim, you are unlikely to be disappointed by this hotel.

Beautiful hotel. The pool is awesome and the food is a must. The rooms and beds really cozy. The attention of personnel not so good and if you’re in a hurry don’t ask for anything because service is slow in Campeche. Be aware that in Campeche there’s no Uber or Didi and taxis are very difficult to get.

We didn’t stay here but I really wish we did. Came here for dinner and had an amazing dinner that was not overpriced at all. The service was impeccable. Took a walk around the area and just reminded me of visiting Mexico as a kid with my parents before all major hotels took over these sweet magical spots. It’s truly special place for dinner and for a stay. Dreamy indoor and outdoor pool. Again, really regretted an Airbnb. Truly wish we would have give them out business.
