Reviews for Hotel Casa Turquesa

A Wabi-sabi dreamscape.

Wow, such a special place. My husband and I loved it. We are artists and love a place with soul and personality, someplace unique. This was that. The staff is great. I read all the reviews and was very glad I knew in advance that: the hotel room safes don't work, beach towels are not supplied for you, the pillows are lumpy (like so so lumpy... I elected to sleep on a decorative pillow wrapped in a nightgown instead) and the beds are hard. The sheets and blankets were itchy ( but once I found a long sleeve 100% cotton top and long skirt to sleep in, I didn't feel the itch and slept fine!) I also read in advance that it takes a long time for water to heat up, and there are tons of nude statues and paintings ( I guess this isn't cool with some parents of small kids). Some things that were not stated in other reviews were that the phone in the room didn't work, the paint is chipping everywhere, the spa and tennis court are non-functional, much is under repair. BUT IT IS SOOOOOO MAGICAL. The view, the size of the room, the outdoor massive tub on our balcony, the quiet beach with the bluest water.... The beautiful pool that was never over crowded, the most amazing delightful funny beautiful woman at the front desk.... Lots of great aspects. The food in the restaurant is mostly shelf-stable fare, but it was good enough to eat a couple of times. We DID adore this hotel but we did NOT like the hotel zone; no good Mexican food anywhere, the whole hotel zone is for Americans, priced for Americans, Ew, not why we left America. We went to the grocery store and ate groceries mixed with room service food. One night we took an uber to downtown Cancun (outside the hotel zone) and had the BEST time! We had interesting street food, heard live music, saw people dancing in the center plaza, etc. The value we got from the hotel for the price we paid was off the charts. You just need to find the charm in things that are chipping or broken or unavailable. If you like thrift store clothes, quiet beauty, loads of history, and oodles of quirk, this is for you. If you want something where everything works and you can't deal with a little rust/chipped paint/broken this and that, then this is not for you. Any artist friend of mine would love it.

Quiet and Relaxing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I really do not have anything more to offer than what most people have said. It was perfect if you are looking for a small, quiet location. We did not have any issues with hot water, the toilet, or air conditioning. I have ATT and my WIFI was iffy. My boyfriend has Verizon and he had no issue with WIFI. I read the other post about the beds being uncomfortable and no blankets. We pack to extra blankets and I was very happy that we did! I only wish there was a coffee machine and microwave in the room.

Excellent stay!

Hotel Casa Turquesa is the perfect getaway if you're looking for a relaxed, intimate experience surrounded by gorgeous art, beautiful pool deck, beachfront views, and cheerful staff. It's a smaller hotel offering cozy comfort. You'll be delighted by the friendliness and attentiveness of everyone on the staff, especially the front desk managers Eduardo and Manuel, and the resort is brilliantly managed by Marisol. Make sure to have a conversation at the restaurant with Oscar who is humorous and entertaining. The hotel is well suited to young couples and middle-aged travelers seeking pool and beach activities with plenty of shopping and dining venues nearby. Twenty-somethings who want to party all night or stay at an all-inclusive resort should look elsewhere. The hotel is replete with beautiful paintings and sculptures which adorn the entire property from the lobby, hallways and poolside to the guest rooms. They add verve to your experience. If you like museums, you'll love Hotel Casa Turquesa. Be advised that the WiFi is spotty and the beds are extra firm, yet this affordable resort will surpass your expectations with its excellent hospitality, customer service, and charm.

I went to Cancun as usual, and rented this hotel for 2 nights. I liked it very much, due to perfect room and perfect nature in i

The hotel is very good, since it's location is good for everybody. Both beach and the grand shop are nearby. It has their breakfast, lunch and dinner, though you have to pay for it, but the prices are pretty low. Guacamole they make was the best I've tasted for the time I post this. The beach is perfect, the pool is good, but a bit too small, and sometimes uncleaned. Wi-fi has VERY low signal strength, so we hope they will fix it.

Hidden treasure in the Hotel Zone

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

This place brings you back in time and conjures an old school Hollywood feel, a treasure nestled amidst the giant concrete blocks that line Kukulcan. Does it need some new paint? For sure. But the structure itself is an absolute beauty. Pros: Great location near shopping and restaurants. Small and exclusive feeling, only 30 rooms, all facing the sea. Most have a hot tub on the balcony. Rooms are large and attractive. AC worked great and there was a fridge. Lovely and helpful staff, I wanted for nothing. Restaurant with indoor seating and a palapa covered deck with breathtaking views. Room service upon request. Beautiful, clean swimming pool, with no one around...it's like your own backyard. Lots of interesting artwork and bronze statues reminiscent of an Italian villa. Oh, the beach...wow....a private area with enough umbrellas for every guest; What a treat this was in Cancun. Looking next door at rows of chairs crammed together, I felt happy and spoiled. Cons: Its age is showing in areas, but they're doing their best, and for the price it's a steal. A few small things to keep in mind: Don't expect 5-star amenities; this isn't the place for it. But it really has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday with a lot of privacy. Ok, so they may need to fix your toilet, the hot water may only get warm, you'll get one sheet and no blanket. Bring your own slippers and plan on fetching coffee and bottled water on your own. As far as alcohol, it seemed they only had beer. The beds are hard as a rock but the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep in no time. I'd return again and again. Temper any high expectations and enjoy yourself.

My daughter and I had a wonderful 5 night stay at Casa Turquesa. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us feel like family. The room was spacious and beautiful and the pool and grounds were maintained immaculately. The hotel is so quiet and peaceful which is exactly what we were looking for. We would most definitely return again!

I purchased two Luxury Link deals for Casa Turquesa - my wife and I stayed in one room, while my daughter and best friend stayed in another. The small boutique hotel is located right on the beach, away from the crowds, noise and nightclubs. The suites are very opulent and all have a view of the pool and ocean. The fruit plate and bottle of tequila were a welcome treat upon arrival. The package we purchased was a bargain since it included all of the above as well as airport transfers and daily breakfast. I highly recommend Casa Turquesa if you are going to Cancun and want to get away from the crowds.
