Nestled along the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa constitutes a quiet refined oasis among the surrounding din. Elegant details set the resort apart from its peers. A delicate flower scent permeates the welcoming lobby and guests can frolic around four outdoor swimming pools. The infinity-edged main pool threads through the landscaped grounds and fronts the pristine powdery sand. Jump the diving pool's deep end and explore the built-in artificial reef. Dotted with beach chaise loungers and shady palapas, the 700-foot beach beckons to linger. The cerulean ocean is the resort's ubiquitous backdrop and all 448 rooms have private balconies where to take in the view. Appointed in classic style, roomy accommodations (the smallest measures 465 square feet) feature sitting areas with lively color accents, wireless Internet access, 32-inch flat-panel televisions and twice-daily maid service. Bathrooms are exquisitely marble-bedecked with separate tubs and showers.

From Hello and Welcome the JW is fantastic. This is not our first time here and we will always come back to this spotless, friendly and wonderful place. We came in December because it was our 50th Anniversary and we wanted to be in Mexico and specifically at the JW to celebrate. The service is excellent, the staff is wonderful and the adult only pool is what we wanted. My husband is a Titanium member and without asking we were upgraded to an Ocean Front Suite. From the first moment we walked into the breakfast area we were greeted as returning family. From Sergio, Gabriel, Victor and Lourdes, we were hugged and welcomed and made at home. Often they stopped at our table to ask how we were, how was the family and did we need anything else. The restaurants are fantastic, and we love Gustino's where we ate twice because it was terrific. The service is top notch as is the food. The bar staff whether at the pool or in the Hotel is excellent. The public areas are cleaned constantly and kept in pristine condition. I could go on and on about the staff and I know I missed some of the names of the staff and I apologize but they are all wonderful and have stayed at the JW because of how good it is. We have been coming here for over ten plus years and when you see the same people as we have over the years you know that they stay because the how they are treated at this hotel. Thank you for making our Anniversary as special as it was. In addition I will say that the beach area was in great condition as well and maintained.

We have stayed at over 20 Marriott properties (and brands owned by Marriott) in the last four years. The JW Marriott Resort and Spa Cancún gets extremely high marks from us! Beautiful property, great pools, wonderful food, high standards of cleanliness, and INCREDIBLE work ethic on the part of staff! I’m not sure how they’ve done it, but the management has put together an incredible team! We did not encounter a single individual who was not friendly, helpful, and guest-focused. It was obvious that the staff truly enjoys their work and each other. And that working environment gets passed on to the guests—-you cannot give that which you don’t have! Kudos to the team and management! This is not an all-inclusive resort, so be prepared to spend $100+ per day for food, with minimal alcohol. There are several off-property dining options nearby, but they are generally not inexpensive, either. One bargain—the breakfast buffet (continental) at the resort is a good deal at USD 11 per person. Gustivo (Italian restaurant) at the resort is quite good, as is the Thai. Skip Sybil (the resort’s “Mediterranean” restaurant) as the menu is not well thought-out and the quality/taste of the menu items is lacking. For example, there are 2-3 Greek items on the menu, but no hummus nor even a single Greek wine offering. The beach is surprisingly nice—it’s even possible to snorkel. Beach is wide with good sand. Property is well-kept, landscaping is wonderful. Some mosquitoes in the early evening, so come prepared if you are sensitive. We will definitely return to this Marriott property; we already have made reservations for 2026!

We had an amazing time at the resort! The facilities were incredible - beautiful views, very nice pool and hot tub. The food was amazing. We especially enjoyed dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant. The service was impeccable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Axel Cupul and Jose Garcia at the 750 pizzeria went above and beyond- even gifting us a dessert at the end of our stay! We can’t wait to come back.

We came here last year and were really impressed. Impressed enough to book again this year. However, I always fear that my expectations become too high and end up disappointed. Well, here we are and the place is still the best resort in the Cancun hotel zone. The fact that it isn’t all inclusive keeps the gross guest gluttony and poor service at bay. The prices are reasonable (especially in comparison to many other locations, even in Mexico) and the staff is outstanding. We stay at some of the best hotels in the world, and we still came back here. Kudos to the hotel and staff.

Beautiful resort. Staff always smiling and helpful. Large oceanfront room, good AC, huge walk-in shower, comfortable bed & pillows. Hard to find a spot by the pool with no shade unless go to the adult pool and grandson not allowed. Best Ever pool chair cushions = see my photo. Food needs to step up. Food never hot. Main restaurant closes for lunch so had to eat in my pool chair or 2 very small restaurants that all have the same menu. Italian was the best.
