Carlton Cannes, A Regent Hotel

CARLETON HOTEL BEACH CLUB – an amazing, memorable, A+, Gold Star experience. The Carleton Hotel is the premier classic and classy hotel of many on the Cannes La Croissette. It is the hotel featured in “To Catch a Thief” with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. The Beach Club is the premier beach club and we have never attempted to go there, assuming it would be too expensive and too exclusive. However, at 4 pm, for sunbeds / transats on the pontoon it was 42 euro per person (84 euro together). The transats are incredibly clean and cushiony. The service from HUGO was professional, friendly, and welcoming. The scenery is incredibly pretty. For the fun of the experience, and to make it even more memorable, we totally splurged and ordered a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne for 125 euro. Hugo made the presentation of the champagne a dramatic and memorable one as well, icing out the glasses to chill them and then dramatically presenting, opening, and pouring the champagne. It was a truly special experience.

The whole experience was first class, from the welcome to the room to the excellent staff. Couldn’t fault the Carlton in anyway. Had the breakfast on the last day and was just superb, worth every penny. Thank you to all the staff for making our all too short such a wonderful memory.

We enjoy staying at this hotel, which has a timeless international flavor and where high service is a natural part of your stay. We visit the hotel 2-3 times a year and feel welcome and recognized by staff. We like the gym and spa and use this frequently during our stays.

Faultless service, from Doormen, Concierge services to Housekeeping they were always charming and efficient. Carlton Cannes amongst the very top global offerings. Superb position, beautifully restored a haven of peace. Excellent dining and fun bar - a memorable place to stay.

The reborn Carlton Cannes looks even more beautiful than ever are an extensive renovation. The extended wings at the rear now enclose a magnificent garden with the outdoor swimming pool, which is a wonderful place to relax. The hotel has been totally modernised and now looks very fresh and sparkling. In my opinion the Carlton is the unrivalled ‘Grande Dame’ not only of Cannes but of the Côte d’Azur. The suites are spacious and well appointed if somewhat lacking in colour - a few more printings might help. It had two restaurants, the Riviera which is open all day and Ruya, a Turkish Restaurant which is only open in the summer. There is a lovely bar and tea lounge. The hotel also has a magnificent spa and an enormous gym for fitness fanatics. However what really sets the hotel apart from other 5 star properties are its staff. They are incredibly friendly and welcoming but also highly professional and you really get the sense that they cannot do enough for you. They genuinely want to get to know you and what your tastes are so they can better curate your stay. This is true from the Bell Boys, to Concierge, Front of House/Guest Relations, Housekeeping, the restaurant staff and on and on it goes! We both had a wonderful time and cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. We cannot wait to go back.
