Easter Vacation Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Myself and my 8 year old son stayed for Easter. The service and accommodations were simply outstanding. The kindness and knowledge of the staff was greatly appreciated. Our bags were immediately taken to our room, and we were able to check in quickly and efficiently all the events for the children were beyond amazing we look forward to coming again

Awful Easter Brunch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Awful experience at the Easter brunch. We were the last seating at 3pm and it definitely showed. Everything had been sitting out. Barely anything left. Our server was awful, we had to keep asking for water. I asked for a manager and told her about the food and she said we would have it refilled. It was refilled when we’re paying for the check. This was not worth $89 pp. We had 9 people total. The manager was kind, but never came up to our table again. Again this was Easter, expected so much more from them. Definitely will not be back.

This is a must do in Cape May: Drinks in the Courtyard!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is a MUST do in Cape May! Wonderful sun, drinks, and relaxation on the rocking chairs. Or, if you prefer, Adirondack chairs! Both with an ocean view. There are tables and chairs as well. This is my wife's happy place and do it every time we visit. Must try.

Simply the best that Cape May has to offer

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Congress Hall. Feels like it’s been here forever. A deep storied history that is well documented elsewhere. So why 5 stars? We first came here when they reopened after Covid at 30% capacity. Remember when we were happy to have someone serve us food and beer both at the same warm temperature outside under an umbrella and we were happy and gave 5 star ratings? Yes. Then. And it was fantastic. Crisp service from happy people. And since then we have been back 2-3 times a year. One of the winter holidays. A few days in summer and sometimes, if lucky, for a birthday. From the second they take you bags and car keys everything here is perfect. From the pool and pool bar in summer, to the grunge bar feel of the Boiler Room, the beach service, and of course the Brown Room (the bar that somehow stayed open in Prohibition) with its stunning renovation and live music. The beds are comfortable, the views amazing, the service impeccable. It does get busy. If you don’t like kids forget Black Friday. If you need to sit immediately in The Brown Room don’t try it (especially with a big group), but even with 4 folks we get seated in about 20 minutes as the space turns over fast (the exception being Saturday night holiday or summer season. Folks sit and listen to Darin play piano for a while). There are rails you can grab a drink at the bar or from the wait team and stand. All around just a fantastic place.

Lovely as usual, however too crowded to enjoy amenities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Lovely place too crowded to enjoy amenities. Being off season, we decided even in the bad weather to enjoy a getaway to sit in front of the fire or listen to music n the Brown Room. However both the lobby with the fireplace and nice touches and the Brown room were overflowing both days in April. From morning till late night. There was never an open seat even though we came back to the hotel to relax off and on during our stay which was Saturday through Sunday. Cape May has many other places to enjoy fine dining and music but truthfully we booked there to hang out there. Otherwise, our room a King Deluxe town view on the second floor was very comfy, bed linens and bed was kitted out really well. We ate in the Tavern on site and had great food and service as well. I am happy for the establishment, business was booming. But for us, it was tough to enjoy the real old world charm and relaxation due to the crowds.
