Fantastic hotel. However disappointed with in house communication. This was a bucket list experience for me. Reception advised me that the restaurant Azure was fully booked on both nights. How ridiculous. I was an in house guest. Should I not have priority? Was I supposed to stay at your hotel and go and eat somewhere else for dinner? This should not even be a negotiable. It’s part of the experience to dine at your hotel. I was also given the paraplegic room and bed was caving in on the centre. Nolundi & Thembi gave me awesome service. Thank you.

Beautiful, spectacular views of God's creation. Truly breathtaking. Its beautifully nestled among the best views Cape Town has to offer and the rooms provide a perfect setting for initimate celebrations. The food is five star. Thank you for your kind service !

I have just returned from my much anticipated trip to Cape Town. It was on my bucket list for my 60th birthday. We had a direct flight with BA which was horrendous, it would have been moved comfortable flying with easy jet. The seats in economy were so small we struggled to eat our meals without elbowing each other, then my poor sis managed to knock a glass of red wine into the lap of the woman next to her. Anyway 12 hrs later we landed, there was some confusion over our transfer but that was resolved, unfortunately the driver that collected us put the fear of good in us to the point where we didn't want to go out in for fear of being massacred. We reached the hotel in one piece and was greeted with a glass of champagne, showing us to our rooms I was then presented with a further bottle of champers, some cake, balloon and a candle. Very impressive start. We had reserved a table that evening, the food was impeccable as was the service. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The beds were comfy and there is a pillow menu. Breakfast in the morning, a selection of fruits, salmon, oysters, cheeses, a cooked breakfast of your choice as well as pastries and cakes all freshly made, muffins were to die for. They arranged a number of excursions for us e.g table mountain, a day safari, Robbed island, we also hired a driver for 5 hours for a private tour of the city and a winery. We tried the couples massage which was so good we booked a second before we left. The hotel provides a courtesy transfer to camps bay around 10mins from the hotel and V&A waterfront 20 mins where there are restaurants and a huge shopping centre. There is so much more I could say about this hotel, they treated me like a queen, nothing was ever too much trouble it was a celebration for the whole ten days. I would like to thank everyone at 12A especially Imran who took the time to ensure our experiences were memorable. You are truly beautiful people. I would love to return some day.

We were anticipating a luxurious stay here at the end of our three week S African trip. We were sadly disappointed. First - be aware that the hotel is not in Camps Bay. It is situated by itself on the windy road - you cannot walk to any other place. Our experience: On arrival we were delivered through the garage and the hotel delivery and staff entrances because our transfer service was a van (Although the hotel van can use the main entrance). Then we asked the concierge to show us our rooms because we were considering upgrading. She must have been new because she led us up and down several stairs and corridors without finding our rooms. I read the room signs and showed her where we should be going - NOT A GOOD START! Rooms were fine, but a long trek down hallways and stairs with god awful striped, worn carpet that looked like something you would find at Motel 6. Breakfast was good, but two of three mornings had to wait over 15 minutes for a cup of coffee, and the third morning they failed to deliver a coffee within 30 minutes despite three requests (never got it because we had to leave). Didnt receive any turndown service on last night. Laid out by the pool, waited over an hour before there was any staff to get a drink there. This hotel better get its staffing issues together or they wont be there for long. Compared to our stay at the Fancourt Manor House, this was a 1 star hotel!

1) The spa was dirty. There were dead cockroaches in the shower, dirty crockery on every surface, and the surfaces were sticky from spilled beverages. 2) The spa is tiny. The "tranquility room" consisted of 4 loungers facing each other. If you are alone, and there is a couple across you, it can feel very awkward. Especially if you're there for tranquility rather than socialising. The jacuzzi has a maximum occupancy of 1. The other jacuzzi was a bit bigger but was occupied by a couple making out with each other. The salt water pool is in a dark dinghy corner and can admit 2 people. The changing room is tiny and there are no actual seperate rooms to change in. It felt more like a tiny gym locker room than a spa. I walked in on someone with her bits and pieces out and about, and she and I were both startled. Not the spa for you, if you're not an exhibitionist. 3) The facilities are unisex, and the couples packages happen in the same area. If you're a solo female, be aware that there is a chance you could be surrounded by men. Or by couples who love a bit of PDA. 4) The treatment rooms are along the same corridor as the change room, and at the end of the corridor is the buffet. As a result, during your treatment, there is so much external noise from dishes clanging, people greeting each other, clients being thanked before they leave their rooms - everything is audible that it made it impossible to actually relax. Someone also thought it would be ok to knock at the door to ask the masseuse something in the middle of a treatment. Really ruined the massage. 5) No windows in the entire spa. The reason I booked at this spa is because of the rave reviews of the view. You can see NOTHING from the spa. It's small, dark, dinghy and windowless. Even cruise ship spas are bigger and better. In summary: Don't waste your money on this spa. There are many better alternatives.

The suites are some of the best suites I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a few around the world, the food and staff were simply fantastic...

In August, 2004, my husband, his two adult daughters and I took the trip of a lifetime to Africa. The unbelievable service from these establishments deserves much credit. I hope they will read this and accept our heartfelt thanks. Janne at the Orient Express Hotel (South Africa & Botswana), Michele at Stanley & Livingstone (Victoria Falls), Karen at The Liz McGrath Collection, and Zanette at The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa. Thanks for making us feel like family! Thank you Liz McGrath, for joining us at lunch, to taste the Cape Malay cooking that your Chef Martha taught us. It was a memorable experience. I can't say enough about the trip. We will be back!

We began our honeymoon at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa in Cape Town. I do not think we could have picked a more beautiful setting in the entire City. The Twelve Apostles is set apart from the city on a mountainside overlooking the ocean. The guest room was beautifully appointed, the service was great, and the daily breakfast was amazing.

The Twelve Apostles is a relaxing and luxurious sanctuary with stunning ocean views, quiet enough to be private but close enough to the action to allow you to enjoy all the amenities of Camps Bay and Cape Town. The service was impeccable - the staff were knowledgeable, attentive and helpful without being overbearing - nothing was too much trouble. It was the perfect place to celebrate the New Year in style.
