Great stay
Quiet beach that is only a short walk from the resort. Great meals and Chandler's restaurant is always consisyent with very friendly staff. We are return customers who go back a few times per year and love this resort because it is quiet and relaxed.

Can’t see a thing!
Ooh dear! I generally like the quality of a Hilton Hotel, but the Cape Rey is below standard. The central heating system is so noisythat you can’t have it on, ever! Also we had a oceanview / swimming poole view but I could barely see anything out of the filthiest windows I have ever come across, in my whole life. Ooh dear! Staff are lovely and bedding great.

Great spot in Socal
We enjoyed our time at Cape Rey. We liked the room, location near the beach, away from busy Carlsbad village. The restaurant is good in the evening, just get breakfast somewhere else, not impressed at all. The pool area really needs a good cleaning every morning because some guests are careless and some staff members need more attention to details, they don't pick up all the trash and litter.... The free hotel shuttle/ car ride is really convenient within a 5 mile radius. Stephen (local Surfer) drove us around safely and we enjoyed his upbeat personality. Get him when you can. Use the Coaster train to get there and Stephen will pick you up at the Poinsettia station located nearby. It is better, cheaper and cleaner than the $30 daily parking fee, oooch! Keep in mind, there is an additional $35 daily "resort fee" as well. Location, location, location.

If you need a good hotel on the beach in Carlsbad, then this is yours.
Excellent location within proximity to Restaurants, Legoland and the beach. Exceptional staff and service and a great place for a family stay. Bikes and Surfboard rentals available, as well as a very nice pool. Rooms are comfortable and spacious.

Great location I heard the gym and it was very nice. Clean had good equipment and I had a good workout. Breakfast can be a little faster though. Some people might be in a hurry for breakfast but I understand that’s just flow related. …………………….. good stay
