Perfect Place for a Special Occasion

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We spent 5 days at Casa San Agustin for our anniversary, and this was the perfect place to celebrate! The hotel is beautiful, clean and in the middle of everything. Staff was gracious and accommodating. I definitely recommend spending a day at Acasi beach - stunning and relaxing. Dinner at their restaurant was superb. Shout out to Laura for making our 25th an anniversary we will never forget!

Really good hotel in Cartagena

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We loved our stay here. Beautiful hotel, lovely building with small pool in the courtyard. Location great in the walled city. Everywhere walkable. Restaurant Alma had good food and drinks. Didn’t mind the music we arent really into that kind of thing it’s a bit touristy but it was quite well done. If you want authentic music in Cartagena go to cafe Havana. Service ranged from attentive and excellent to a bit slow on occasions but overall I would say very good. Because of the design of the hotel there isn’t always lots of natural light in the rooms - we were in 207 but the room itself was lovely with a large bathroom and good AC which is important in Cartagena. So overall a lovely upscale hotel and I would definitely recommend it.

The Best

It is hard to express in words how magical this hotel is. Location - can't be beat. in the heart of the walled city. Lively streets at night. Within a 12min walk from every corner of the city and Geti. Hotel - stunning. every piece of art. every column. every area. the pool. all of it is gorgeous. Room - we stayed in a Junior Suite. it was huge with a bedroom and sitting room as well as a balcony. The bed was extremely comfortable. Food - breakfast was fantastic. sit down a'la carte. And Alma, their onsite resteraunt, is one of the best meals we have had. Service - this is really what makes this place stand out. Every single staff member made us feel safe, secure, happy, and special. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay great. Gladys held my hand from a month before my stay until the night of our VIP table at Havana Club. Transportation was set up. Dinner reservations were made. We never go to the same place twice, but Casa San Agustin will be an exception.

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location - an oasis to return to from the buzzy old city.

The Casa San Agustin is in a great location near the centre of the old walled city with lots of good restaurants nearby and close to all the main sights. It is set in a grand, old house with an internal courtyard, which has now got a small swimming pool in it. The staff are friendly and professional and made very good recommendations for restaurants (Buena Vida, a stone's throw from the hotel is highly recommendable). Our room, which was on the first floor overlooking the courtyard, was beautifully furnished with tasteful period furniture. The bed was comfortable firm but with a soft topper. There was a pillow menu. There were just enough guest usable sockets so that devices could be charged. The wifi was good. There is both air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Probably the highlight of the room is the shower and the power of the water that comes from it. The products are Ortiga, so high quality. The toilet is separated by a low wall from the shower, however if the shower is on you will get wet. There is a safe in the wardrobe. Our room was cosy in that you could just open the cupboard doors with no space between them and the bed. Given that the room overlooked the courtyard there was no direct sunlight into the room. On the first floor there is a self service coffee and tea lounge. The coffee is provided a Nespresso machine. Breakfast is predominantly served with a small buffet. The food was good and was a mix of Colombian and European options. As with most Colombian hotels and cafes the coffee is not great. Overheated and from a Nespresso machine. Colombia exports the best coffee. There are a small number of coffee shops in Cartagena where you can get a pretty decent Italian style coffee. Overall for a short stay in Cartegna, the Casa San Agustin is an ideally located oasis in the very busy city and I would highly recommend it.

Exceptionally charming, absolute 5 Star Service and an overall superb luxury boutique Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Everything you would expect and more from a "Leading Hotels of the World" property in lovely old town Cartagena. The moment you walk in the gates you are immersed in its charm and romance. Service is absolutely top notch from the front desk staff (thank you Glady's & Team), the reservations and concierge team to assist with transport and restaurant reservations etc (thank you Rebecca and Concierge Team). Alma bar service drinks and food are amazing (Thank you Deynar & Luisa & others). Breakfast experience in the small courtyard is so good! Rooms are awesome. Best walk-in shower and bed maybe ever. I cannot recommend this enough to other discerning traveler's and can't wait to return personally. Great location. Nearby Ristorante Don Ignazio has world class homemade Italian pastas and more and is not to be missed. Recommend the Cannelloni for Whole Branzino. Thank you again for a wonderful and very memorable stay.
