This is a lovely property housed in a beautifully maintained building. Our room - a suite had gorgeous high ceilings - plenty of light during the day but as others have noted very dimly lit at night. While we had a jacuzzi we didn’t use it mainly because it was too warm for us in the hot weather. The staff are mostly lovely and helpful, particularly in the restaurant. We enjoyed all our meals and found the food to be of a high standard. Overall this is a lovely place to stay in the old town. I would probably give 4.5 stars if that was an option. The hotel missed the mark for service by the pool, no one around to provide refreshments and literally zero service, we would expect more for how this property is rated. We did the boat trip for the day to their beach club, it wasn’t particularly special, but it was a chilled few hours. They could invest in providing a better boat option for the trip - we had thought it would be on a catamaran rather than a basic speed boat.

We (@wolfestreettravel on Instagram and wolfestreettravel.com) stayed at Casa San Augustin for 3 nights during a 10-day trip to Colombia. Great location in the old city and really cool place, with tons of colonial character. We stayed first in Room 200 (a junior suite, we think?), which was beautiful with tons of light and a second floor bedroom. It overlooked the pool, which was cool, but also, to some extent, the lobby / restaurant area, which resulted in set-up noise at 5 in the morning. We requested to be moved, as a result, and we then stayed for a night in Room 215, a Prestige Suite. Huge, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two floors. Not a lot of natural light, versus Room 200, but spectacular and much larger. Breakfast was outstanding, and we also had drinks at the bar, and hung out at the pool after hot days of walking / touring the city. We also used the hotel bikes one morning to bike along the city walls, which was great. Finally, there's a library on the second floor with a Nespresso machine and, in the evening, an honor bar, which we also enjoyed. We'd absolutely stay here again if we return to Cartagena.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa San Agustin. The service was outstanding from all the staff. We were a group of 12 celebrating a birthday and had 7 rooms booked. Dagmar, one of the concierges, worked with me for months taking care of dinner reservations, cakes and all other arrangements. We had a lot of special requests given the size of the group and they were all handled with a smile and great attitude. One nice feature was complimentary drinks in the library. Minibar drinks included. Housekeeping was excellent. The property is beautiful. Breakfast was great. The universal issue noted in all the 7 rooms was poor lighting. Everyone mentioned it was hard to see and locate items in the room or do makeup. We were in the prestige suite which is 2 bedroom. It was really nice. In addition to the lighting there was very limited closet space in the room. However these were minor items which paled with the service. Overall I would say the service is up there with the best of the best hotels.

We stayed here for a week in July 2024. The experience was simply exquisite all around. The hotel is beautiful and well appointed and welcoming. We stayed in three different rooms preferring the junior suite actually to the one with the Jacuzzi. The staff was very accommodating in our request to change rooms, which I’m sure wasn’t all that convenient. And the staff really made the experience. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful and warm and welcoming. From Paola who texted to welcome us to Jaime, Jesus at breakfast, Gladys, Deyner at the bar and David the staff was incredible and made our stay simply wonderful.

Awesome hotel in the Walled City. Great location, can walk to anything. Service was amazing, breakfast was authentic and delicious. You can order drinks and food and they’ll bring it right out to the pool. The truffle octopus dish was amazing. Great stay
