Hotel Casa San Agustin

We loved this hotel! It was perfection from the minute we walked in the door. We were greeting by a warm staff, offering us hand towels and a refreshing drink. The rooms were large, clean and beautifully appointed. The bar and restaurant were both great and the breakfasts, in particular, were amazing. But the best asset of this hotel was the warm and accommodating staff that bent over backwards to make our visit perfect. The front desk/concierge staff were top notch and organized dinner reservations, tours and a cooking class. The location of the San Agustin was perfect - inside the city and walkable to everything that we did. Highly recommend!

From the moment you step off the busy streets of Old Town Cartagena into Casa San Agustin you feel a sense of calm, peace and serenity. The attention to detail from the refreshing welcome drink, to the original scents that flow through the hotel, makes it memorable experience.

Book it. That is all I can say. The staff, the smells, the rooms, the pool, the spa, the library, the art; any would have been amazing on their own, but collectively it made for an amazing trip and the best hotel at which I've ever stayed. I would also highly recommend booking the private boat to the beach. Just wow. I'm always skeptical of reading glowing reviews but I hope my sincerity comes through because Casa San Agustin and the staff deserve it. If you even think it, somehow someone from the staff seems to already know and like magic they are their with whatever your little heart desires.

I like very nice hotels. Love institutions like the four seasons and the Waldorf but small boutique hotels like Hotel Casa San Agustin offer a welcome alternative to the 5 star international luxury chains. I was thoroughly impressed by the hotels incorporation of the city's colonial past into modern luxurious suites with all the expected amenities. The service was exemplary! The hotel's restaurant Alma, one of the top restaurants in the city, served spectacular delicious meals with an emphasis on Colombian coastal fare. The large paintings of colonial afro colombian women were striking and extraordinarily beautiful. Most important, despite the 5 star caliber of this amazing hotel, I didn't feel that I was barricading myself from the local culture for pure exclusivity. I'll be honest and say that I'm not a fan of hot carribean type weather but whenever I visit Cartagena, I plan my stay around this hotel's availability. Would love to know more about the artist who created their exceptional artwork.

We spent 5 days at Casa San Agustin for our anniversary, and this was the perfect place to celebrate! The hotel is beautiful, clean and in the middle of everything. Staff was gracious and accommodating. I definitely recommend spending a day at Acasi beach - stunning and relaxing. Dinner at their restaurant was superb. Shout out to Laura for making our 25th an anniversary we will never forget!
