Reviews for Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort

A must stay when visiting beautiful St.Lucia

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

There are so many amazing things to say about Windjammer Landing, it is the most gorgeous resort i have ever been to. Walking into the lobby the layout welcomes you with a warm breeze as it has a beautiful outdoor/indoor concept. The breathtaking scenery, impeccable design, and thoughtful details that make for an unforgettable stay. Every aspect of the property has been carefully curated to provide both luxury and comfort, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The architecture is a stunning mix of elegance and relaxation, featuring open-air spaces, high-end finishes, and a harmonious color palette that enhances the beauty of the location. The landscaping is equally impressive—lush gardens, perfectly manicured pathways, and serene water features create a tranquil ambiance that makes you know you are in paradise. Beyond aesthetics, the resort is incredibly well-thought-out. The rooms and villas are spacious, beautifully furnished, and equipped with everything a guest could need. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the soft lighting, exudes comfort and sophistication. The layout ensures privacy while still offering breathtaking views, whether of the ocean, mountains, or gardens.   With the multiple dining options and delicious menus, you won’t get tired of the food or ever be disappointed. With the variety of restaurants, there is something everyone can enjoy. From Caribbean favourites, Italian, sushi, a steakhouse and so much more…. there is always something delicious to order. Not to mention there is the best staff members you will ever meet to serve you and make you feel like family. They will always go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. Everyone here will treat you like royalty, it is truly a wonderful experience.   Between the beach, the space to book excursions, the spa and everything else in between. I think it is impossible to be bored. One day you can hike the piton. The next you can relax all day by the beach or pool, end your night with a boat cruise. This can all be booked on the resort, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.   When my best friend and i were visiting we were celebrating my birthday. The staff was nothing shy of generous and making sure I had a great day before my birthday and the day of. It seemed like every interaction we were being showered with gestures and kindness. From setting up balloons to a special birthday dinner, singing on the beach. The staff went above and beyond and made sure i had the best birthday! I still cannot get over how kind the staff were, ensuring we had a good time celebrating.   This is the perfect place to stay! There is not one bad thing I can say about it and would recommend it to everyone who asks me where to stay in St.lucia! You can’t find a better designed resort and the staff cannot be matched.   We cannot wait to return for another unbelievable stay. Don’t think twice about booking you won’t regret it and will definitely find yourself back soon to enjoy another amazing trip.   A true gem in the Caribbean. Thank you Windjammer Landing! Not good-bye but see you soon!

Great place to Chill

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Lovely resort for a chill out holiday; very clean and well tended. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach, the main pool was closed for refurbishment but did not spoil our trip. The breakfast buffet was amazing as were all the restaurants my two favourites were the Indian and the Italian.

Windjammer resort. The good the bad and the ugly.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

**The good** The resort is visually appealing, with a lovely beach and an abundance of loungers, though they are positioned quite close together. There are plenty of dining options, featuring five different restaurants. The all-inclusive packages provide good value, with the Dragonfly restaurant serving delicious meals, and the sushi and steaks at Upper Deck being noteworthy highlights. The food at Papa Don's is decent, while the drinks at Jammers are exceptional, thanks in large part to the amazing bartenders—especially vernesta. The noodles at Jammers are a must-try. Our villa was well-appointed and comfortably accommodated our party of eight, boasting beautiful views and great outdoor space. The grounds are lovely, although they feel too small for the number of guests, leading to a crowded atmosphere. Travis at the rum tasting was fabulous. He was personable knowable and professional. Also our horseback riding excursion was amazing. **The Bad:** While the resort offers many dining options, breakfast is often chaotic, with limited space filled with hundreds of guests. There is a concerning lack of hygiene practices; for instance, there are no hand sanitizers available on tables, and servers are not assisting with the buffet, leading to numerous guests touching the utensils. The staff only wipes down placemats with dirty rags, without any disinfectant spray in sight. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly, contributing to an overall messy environment. Additionally, the resort’s steep hills make it challenging for those not close to the lobby, especially for guests with disabilities, who may struggle to navigate the area despite the presence of some ramps. The housekeeping service was abysmal. On our first day, no one came to clean, and despite multiple calls and texts, fresh towels took two days to arrive, forcing us to use soiled ones. Soap was also unavailable for days, and after numerous attempts to reach management, it finally arrived. Our housekeeper expressed frustration over the lack of fresh sheets, which we also had to request multiple times. Alarmingly, it appeared that housekeepers were using the same mop across multiple villas, raising serious concerns about whether they were changing out rags and mops between rooms. **The Ugly ** Most distressing was the outbreak of illness among guests. We learned that at least 25 people reported symptoms of norovirus or food poisoning during our stay, including my child, who fell ill on the third night. The resort's response to hygiene issues was alarming; soiled sheets were left outside our villa for 24 hours, and I witnessed guests vomiting in public restrooms. Many guests we spoke with reported similar experiences of illness. Shockingly, the cooking staff in various restaurants were not wearing gloves, and I personally saw a cook handling food with bare hands, which is unacceptable given the circumstances. Despite numerous calls and requests following my daughter’s illness, there was no change in hygiene practices, highlighting a complete lack of urgency and control over cleanliness at the resort. On our last day we said goodbye to some friends we had met there whose son had also been sick and he informed us that his daughter became ill last night. More and more guests were becoming sick daily with no way of managing. In summary, while this resort has some appealing features, the serious hygiene concerns and lack of adequate housekeeping make it a location to reconsider for future visits. Immediate improvements are necessary to ensure the health and safety of all guests.

Nice little bit of paradise

This was our first time visiting St. Lucia and we can't say enough. The island is beautiful and people are among the friendliest we've met on any vacation! We were surprised upon arrival to be upgraded to a 1 bedroom villa which had amazing ocean views. The resort is definitely hilly! Thankfully, they have a shuttle that takes you from your villa to main lobby in minutes. If you have bad knees, the stairs to some villas are very steep. They have rubber bracelets that you wear for your key which was nice snd easy. We were on the all-inclusive plan and so glad we were! Prices are very expensive otherwise and we got to enjoy ourselves without stressing about cost. The only downfall was having to sign our check after each purchase. There has to be a better system. Food at all the restaurants was delicious. Everyone greeted us by name at each restaurant. Breakfast buffet had a nice variety but you should definitely try the sit down breakfast at Papa Don's at least once! Cora at 96 Degrees and Elijah at Jammers were our favorite bartenders! He makes a great chocolate martini! When my husband and I weren't feeling well, Elijah kindly offered to make and deliver us some ginger tea. The beach was beautiful. You had to walk a little ways down the beach to swim in the designated area as there are sea urchins found in front of the main beach. But it wasn't a deal breaker. Loved their lounge chair reservation system for the week. You didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve chairs. You had your palapa/umbrella and chairs all set for you each day until 10am. The cushiony lounge chairs were the best we've ever had and you could lay on them all day without pain. Hopefully you get a chance to use the water sports equipment. Anthony took us out for a sailboat ride. He'll take good care you! Kayaks were fun too! Volleyball on the beach was my husband's favorite activity each day. He met lots of fun people! The nightlife could use more excitement. They had live music each night, but that was about it. No shows. This is a time share place and there are lots of owners who come each year. Surprisingly, we were not hounded to purchase, which we were happy about. Overall, a great resort for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful beach.

A very civilized experience at the Landing

We stayed at WL ten years ago, in a hilltop villa (4 of us) and had an excellent visit. We'd heard that things were not quite as good now (a few reviews online) but decided to give it a shot anyway. We booked 6 nights, all inclusive, in a hilltop villa with pool (sleeps 4). The place looked great, the people were lovely, the weather decent (a shower each day) and the food very good and very varied - we ate in all the restaurants. Least good, we thought, was the Italian (Pap Don's). The live music was outstanding. The beds were comfy, the hot water hot and the shuttles came quickly. One thing that stands out is that there was lots of room, lots of loungers to lie on and lots of people very willing to help. What a great way to spend a week! Not specially cheap, but definitely worth it.
