Blancaneaux Lodge

The Lodge is beautifully located , surrounded by tropical flora and fauna , with gorgeous river views. Service is top notch , without being stuffy , all at the Lodge aim to please , dining at all 4 restaurants was singular and magnificent at the same time . Breakfast over looking the jungle and its beautiful trees ,serenaded by different species of birds truly a slice of heaven . The tours were fabulous, all arranged by Blancaneaux, Thank you all at the lodge our trip was unbelizeable !!

The Lodge is wonderful. It's a five star property in a very authentic-feeling setting. It reminded us of places we've stayed in Hawaii and Africa - but much closer to the US for a short stay. The whole area around the lodge still feels very undiscovered. We enjoyed all of our tours to the ruins and caves. The transfers/guides have all worked at the lodge for many years and are true professionals. At night, it's all lit up with candles and feels very magical. We loved the fresh food. Unfortunately it rained quite a lot our week but the lodge still felt cozy. They were also very accommodating for our son who came down with a stomach bug during our stay (not Belize-related, more likely a virus from travel unfortunately). We are already thinking of how we could return, potentially combining with the other properties.

I feel like the only review I need to leave is to say that we actually booked a return stay for 2026 while we were *still at the hotel.* THAT is what a wonderful stay we had at Blancaneaux Lodge! From the moment we arrived and met our driver, Mike, we were blown away by the warmth, professionalism, and efficiency of the staff. Everyone we interacted with was lovely and helpful, and we especially loved being greeted with welcome drinks and cold towels as we checked in. The grounds are even more stunning than they seem in pictures, and the general vibe of the place is so relaxing and tranquil. Everywhere you look, there's something beautiful or interesting, and if you're worried you might get bored without TVs, trust me, there's little chance of that. Just sitting on the deck of our riverfront cabana, looking out over the jungle and the waterfall, was entertainment enough. That said, there IS tons to do at Blancaneaux! We were mostly there to relax and decompress after a busy 2024, so we did not take them up on that many of their offerings, but the ones we did- massages at the spa, river tubing, the garden tour/dinner, and a day trip to Caracol- were AMAZING. The trip to Caracol was particularly mind-blowing, and our guide, Baudilio, was so knowledgeable. I especially loved that while there were several other groups from the lodge there that day, all of us were our own private groups with our own guide. That really made the experience special (and meant that we felt free to ask lots of questions, all of which Baudilio had an answer for!) During our stay, we ate at all 4 restaurants on property (the garden restaurant and the Guatemalan place require reservations, but those were incredibly easy to come by- in fact, we booked at dinner in the main restaurant when the concierge came around just for that purpose, a touch we really appreciated!), and literally did not have a bad BITE, much less a bad meal, the entire week. All of the food was delicious from the pizzas to the Pepian. The garden tour/dinner was really fun, too, since that gave us a chance to meet some of our fellow guests. Highly recommend booking that near the beginning of your trip so that you have "friends" at the Lodge for the rest of your stay! Lastly, we were there in January, so the weather was not as hot as if can be, but still pretty warm on sunny days, and we were always incredibly comfortable temperature-wise even without A/C. That was the only part I was a little concerned about because I have trouble sleeping when I'm hot, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it wasn't an issue at all. The nights really do stay cool, and the windows/breeze provided all I needed. All in all, it was a magical vacation, and we feel so lucky to have found this little piece of paradise. Can't wait to go back next year!

Blancaneaux was a wonderful start to our family’s Belize adventure. The location is absolutely stunning with multiple spots to enjoy the river including great jumping spots for the kids (and adults) as well as a direct path to Big Rock Falls. We stayed in the Francis Villa and it was perfect for our family with a large open living room and spacious bedrooms. The views were amazing! Service was very well-intentioned and warm and we enjoyed some great activities such as the ATM caves trip that the resort managed well. Breakfasts were very good but I do think the rest of the meals could be improved. They were fine but not special to us, particularly the garden restaurant. As I would consider this rustic luxury, note that there are bugs and it might not be the best for less mobile guests. Overall, this is a magical lodge for the right kind of guest and we had a fantastic time!

Absolutely amazing. Came for my 50th birthday trip with my husband and 6 year old daughter before meeting family in Hopkins and Cate Caulker. We stayed in luxury cabana #11 and spent a lot of time floating in porn private pool. The entire team at Blancaneaux is incredible, from the second we drove up until we had to leave, including the concierges Jemuel and Amir, all the wait staff Ernesto, Marty, Cairney and others, and front desk staff Eber and Cindy, and the gardeners who helped me find toucans one early morning. We had side by side massages - some of the best we ever had. They arranged several trips for us, some where the Blancaneaux team drove (Adonius took us to the ATM caves and we had them all to ourselves for the first 1.5 hours) and guided and others where they just arranged for us to meet a guide in our own car. Big Rock Falls was lovely and almost empty. The food, drinks and music were great. Hoping to go back again!
