Melia Orlando Celebration

What I like about this hotel is the area is not crowded and it has access to interstate. The location is also short distance to food and groceries. The staff are very attentive and Mary Jo was able to assist and answer my inquiries. Highly recommended

We had an awesome stay! This hotel is beautiful, with lots of relaxing features. We stayed for 8 nights, 7 days total. There was a small hiccup during check in due to our online booking website, and a certain room was not reserved upon arrival, but this issue was promptly sorted out within 10 minutes! The staff was very friendly and accommodating from check in to check out. We had a breakfast package, and got to try various breakfasts, which were fresh, tasted great and we left full each morning. Our room had a beautiful view of the pool, which is breathtaking! The kitchen was such a blessing, being able to grocery shop and cook in room when we wanted to. This resort is right off a main highway, but you wouldn't even know because you can't hear traffic at all! I love that the Melia is so close to lots of shopping, and big attractions such as Disney (yes, we went there too!) There was a free shuttle to and from the Disney parks, all you have to do is book your preferred time. The bus was crowded, but only a 10 minute drive. We also noted (and loved) that there are "Regulars" at this resort who rent a condo for most of the year. We chatted a bit through the week, and agreed that it was obvious why they love it there! The staff was friendly, attentive and genuinely cared about the guests, as well as their jobs. We also loved that guests can come and go from this resort as they please, with free self parking available. The community connection this resort offers is amazing, we attended a coupe of events that were on site and open to both guests and the local community! It was really cool to see, and I feel unique as well! Our check out was 11am, but our flight wasn't until 9pm, and they gladly held our luggage and belongings safe while we lounged by the pool all afternoon, ordering poolside service too! I'm already looking to book a trip next year... Can't wait! I really can't say enough good things about this experience!

the unmentioned, required resort fee was exorbitant at $150, starting us off on a sour note. the room décor / quality was mediocre, and not living up to the representative photos, which of course, are all immaculate. the hotel halls smell of a tacky Axe deodorant. the housekeeping service didn’t replace all the types of towels when taken. the light leak from the room darkening curtains was unsatisfactory for both day and night - the light leaks around the curtains significantly. the pool / tree lights leak during nighttime making it not very dark in the room as well, affecting rest quality. shower curtain bar had some type of makeshift repair, so it was loose, causing the shower curtain to not fully close on its ends. the fridge isn’t sized properly and sticks out into the room from the counter / dresser top. the AC activation on and off makes loud ‘relay switching’ type operation sounds, sometimes clanky enough to wake you up. there’s probably more as well.

we often stay in this hotel for proximity to Celebration however the last couple of times they have had a DJ at weekends and it's like being in a nightclub- we booked a corner suite with a large balcony patio hoping to chill and relax/read - absolutely no chance could hardly hear each other talking - I asked the front desk for a move to a standard room with. refund for the difference which they refused - the asked the DJ to turn the music down a bit but in all honesty the vibe in this hotel is just not what it used to be - we enjoy music but we never expected it to this extend felt i booked a holiday in ibiza - Meliá is one of our chosen brand hotels we use it in Europe also but i would rethink booking this in the future- on the whole music around the pool and restaurant is far louder than a comfort level!

Plus side - other than dust on the kitchen cabinets, things seemed quite clean. The beds were comfy except for the comforters that stopped a foot short of their top sheets. The staff were nice. The pool was nice. Also, a good location if you're doing Disney. Negatives: felt like I paid quite a bit more than the room was worth. The kitchen had no soap, no hand towels, no sponge, no paper towels, no ice trays. There were a few pots and some dishes and utensils. If we'd wanted to do any real cooking, we couldn't have cleaned up, other than loading the dishwasher. We settled on boiling eggs and making sandwiches. The kitchen cabinets were dusty and their doors hung crooked and shut with a loud bang, and the hot and cold were reversed in the kitchen. The bathroom looked nice, but there was not a single hook in the bathroom to hang stuff, nor a single towel bar except for one right over the toilet. The shower floor was exceedingly slippery. The batchroom sink faucet was loose and moved when you used it. The bathroom countertop was small and didn't really have space to put your stuff. The room itself was next to a very loud utility closet. Furniture was very beat up - couldn't use the drawers in the dresser because they wouldn't slide. Complete lack of documentation regarding wireless, gym, etc, and didn't want to install the app just to find this information. Glad we were only staying two nights.
