Hotel Bennett Charleston

The property is beautiful and rooms well appointed. However, HB remains borderline arrogant. This weekend, we spent over $2,600 for one night on a multi-bedroom suite for a family celebration. Kings Club access wasn’t included (standard at many/most luxury properties for this level of spend/room category) - I asked if it could be included, to which we were flatly denied. That’s all well and good, but makes it easy for me to celebrate elsewhere next year. HB is not the only option in Charleston, or regionally.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. We went for our honeymoon and were greeted with glasses of champagne on arrival. The staff was so incredibly friendly! Our bellhop George was awesome and we really enjoyed talking to him throughout our stay. The concierge Kevin was the BEST!!!!! He gave us the most delicious restaurant recommendations (that were not tourists traps), planned our entire days with places we NEVER would have known about! Highly recommend the boat trip to Morris Island!! The hotel was very clean, the beds were so comfortable and it is very centrally located to everything. We will always stay here anytime we come back to Charleston!

Check in and valet were wonderful. The holiday decorations were beautiful. The hotel is so beautiful. We opted for King Suite with Terrace. Beautiful room and view, weather dependent. Bed and pillows were so comfortable and housekeeping was excellent. We upgraded to the Club Lounge. We are Ritz Carlton Club Lounge regulars. I promise not to be snobs because of this but to be honest this is my review. Breakfast is same every day. Just ok. If you want your fill, you better get in for lunch - the best meal of the day. The lunch meals were spectacular. Evening Hors d'oeuvres are ok. We were a bit put off that security had to escort us out of the lounge every night as if we were teenagers.

Hotel Bennett was everything we hoped it would be. Like most 5 star hotels, they met the bar in amenities, cleanliness, aesthetic, and food. What made it extra special though, was the people. Starting with the valet, and the gentleman at check in who asked great questions, to the bellman, Adam who shared some great ideas for Charleston favorites. But the highlight of top tier service was Kevin, the concierge who not only managed to get us into the fully booked, “hottest” restaurant, Costa, at the very last minute, and rearrange several other reservations in order to accommodate last minute rain plans, but the peak was the private evening tour of the city. Kevin took us off the beaten path and showed us the most private, most elite homes in the city (exterior of course). We were able to take the most beautiful photos and he took heaps of photos of our family. We saw so much, we learned so much and it was definitely the highlight of our trip. Hotel Bennett is a true gem. Don’t think twice.

recently stayed at the Hotel Bennett while in Charleston for a weekend. we have been coming to Charleston for 25 years and have stayed at premium properties - this one WOWed us!!!! From check in to check out was very impressed. Biggest factor was the staff - everyone we met from the front desk to pool to the bars and food venues was exceptional. True 5 star experience!!! Congrats on a great team. we had drinks at the rooftop - Fiat Luxe - great vibe!! indoor and outdoor seating overlooking Charleston. loved the drink menu and they have some exceptional cocktails. Try the Golden Rod!!! the meat and cheese board was awesome - enough for 4 easily. Breakfast in Gabrielle's was outstanding. incredible service and a wonderful menu with something for everyone. the Holiday Mimosa with cranberry was festive!!! will definitely stay here again when we return to Charleston. A new favorite!!!!
