The Spectator Hotel

This is a great hotel. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The quality of service is outstanding. Samone was the name of the girl that checked us in the hotel when we arrived. She was very helpful and worked with to get tickets for the trip to For Sumpter and to tour the Magnolia Plantation. Bill is the name of the butler who received us. Friendly, knowledgeable about Charleston and gave us recommendations for delicious dinner places. If you visit the hotel, check the bar. It feels like home.

we recently stayed at the Spectator on a trip to Charleston and will say it would be hard to beat the location, the staff, the comfort and the hotel itself. From the moment we walked in the front door until the moment we walked out to go home it was a wonderful stay to say the least. The room was super comfortable, the amenities excellent and the staff even better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at the Spectator Hotel! Every employee with whom we interacted was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If they did not know the answer to one of our questions, they made sure to find out and get back to us. The butlers were great--full of information and again, very friendly. The welcome drink and the nightly liqueurs were appreciated and yummy. We were impressed with the complementary snacks and drinks in our room and took advantage of them. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and well equipped. The location was very convenient for all of our activities. I would highly recommend The Spectator and would happily return there.

This is a luxury hotel. The furnishings are of high quality , the service and the employees are friendly and efficient in true Southern tradition . We enjoyed the stay there and would not hesitate to come back. There is valet parking but the response is fast . The breakfast is served in the room . We scheduled time of the breakfast and it appeared in time as requested . The continental breakfast was very good and fresh . A hotel like this make a trip enjoyable .

A wonderful experience in a first class hotel, the staff excellent; from the Butler service to the front desk And housekeeping. It is very difficult to fault anything in this hotel. It is very expensive, but if you want to splurge, this is the place! Perfectly located downtown with access to all that Charleston has to offer.
