In a destination as dreamy as they come, Shanti Maurice, A Nira Resort makes the island of Mauritius even more enchanting. The property itself is 36 acres, situated between sugarcane fields and powder-soft white sand beach, with the brilliant blue waters of the Indian Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. In a place as sublime and exotic as this, Shanti Maurice is a perfect haven, providing the kind of quality and comfort that such a spectacular vacation deserves. When it comes to your accommodations, there are no rooms here - only suites and villas, of course, and every one is magazine-spread worthy. All face the ocean, with floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors to bring the bright outdoors in. Furthering the integration with nature, large balconies or patios and stone-lined outdoor rain showers add elements of pleasure and ideal places to relax in peace and private. Despite your far-flung locale, you will be ever still connected with internet access, DVD players, and high definition televisions throughout. Whether you choose to shut off connection to the outside world, or relish in some free time and entertainment, Shanti Maurice is ready to help you do it all in style.

We returned to the resort for the second year, due to the fabulous time we had last year. There were minor hiccups but everything was sorted out seamlessly in the end. My experience of the spa this time around and specifically my massage therapist Yogesh was impeccable. He is a very intuitive therapist who is guided by what your body really needs. It was one of the best massages I have had in my life. And I don’t say that lightly. The ladies at the Kids club are amazing aswell. I wanted to specifically mention Jamillah- she was so great with our busy toddler son. He came home with a smile on his face everyday. She knew how to manage his energetic character well and her patience and care with him did not go unnoticed. The Rumshed team are also a great bunch of people. They proactively created a special evening for my husband and I on one of our many visits there. Food was great although I did miss a few of the dishes that were on last years menu. Cocktails are flavourful and definitely worth ordering if you have adventurous tastebuds. The reception staff are the sort of people that when you enter the reception area you already have a feel of how your holiday will go. They are warm, inviting and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is amazing and that you leave wanting to return again- which we will probably do for the third time. As mentioned there were a few minor hiccups that didn’t deserve a mention as these things sometimes do fall short when a hotel is at full capacity but it doesn’t deter us from returning for the third time. The food is great but after being here for as long as we did (10 days) you do crave for something different and unfamiliar. Also being a creature of habit I ordered the same meal every day for lunch and there were some consistency issues which I guess can be expected when dealing with multiple sous chefs. The boredom we experienced with the menu was the reason for the 4 star review but that being said our stay at as a long one and I’m sure with a shorter stay it would’ve felt more exciting. Christopher and Satish are also worth a mention. They saw to our needs while we were lazing away on the sunbeds at the beach. These guys always stop for a chat, always have smiles on their faces and are all around friendly warm professional and they both provide a top quality service. Definite keepers. The staff in general are warm and friendly and strive to go above and beyond to make your experience personable, to make your presence valued and to make your stay worth it. A round of applause to all of them. To all the staff (front runners and those that work behind the scenes) thank you for making our trip memorable. We keep returning because of all of you!

Having been travelling and sightseeing for 2 weeks in South Africa we were looking for 6 nights of total relaxation and got exactly that at Shanti Maurice. It was no where near full, which probably helped, but the location and facilities couldn’t be faulted. The food was exceptional as was the service and a special mention to our butler Amal who looked after our every need. Happy to recommend this place

If you need a peaceful and quiet holiday In Mauritius I strongly recommend Shanti Maurice. The property boasts only 61 deluxe rooms standing over a well manicured park ; it offers fine dining facilities and a renowned spa with professional therapists. It is managed skilfully to international rating standards. Room rates are competitive and you feel you are the only guests around the property ; the 300 staffs bend backwards to respond to your every whim !

The hotel was amazing, probably one of the best I've ever been to, especially in terms of the service. We booked one of the ocean view villas, and it was worth every penny. Amal, our butler, was an outstanding and consummate professional. His efficiency, helpfulness and friendly disposition definitely made our stay even better. We will 1000% be back soon!
