Shanti Maurice, A Nira Resort

Our family had a fantastic 8-day, 7-night stay at Shanti Maurice in March 2025. Although mid-March is technically the rainy season in Mauritius -- and there was some rain -- it was still a magnificent and special trip for us. (It is also the low season, which means it was quite uncrowded, which was great.) From the moment we entered the property we knew it would be something special. The layout and maintenance of the entire property is amazingly beautiful. The one bedroom villa suite facing the ocean was perfect in every way: the private pool and terrace, the spaciousness and layout of the villa, and the easy access to the beach. We also loved the outdoor shower -- a unique treat for our son. The food at the three restaurants was delicious and there were enough diverse options to keep us trying new things every night; we also appreciated the evening musical entertainment accompanying the dinners. The daily yoga asana, pranayama, and yoga nidra classes with Deepak were wonderful and we appreciated how there were several offerings throughout the day for adults. The spa activities and facilities were also amazing - shout-out to Sheila who provided caring service to me and my son. The kids club is nicely designed and there are lots of activities to keep kids entertained. We also loved that they screened movies each evening for the kids so parents could have a nice dinner by themselves. Above all, the thing that stood out the most was the exceptional customer service of each and every staff member. To a person, they were pleasant, attentive, and eager to help; the entire resort staff radiated friendliness and warmth. From the Rum Shed restaurant service (Keshan and his colleagues) and Stars restaurant breakfast buffet team to the concierge desk and the golf cart drivers providing transport around the property, everyone contributed to make the stay memorable. In particular, villa "butler" Amal went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. He was responsive and thoughtful, bringing beach and pool toys for our son, making and confirming reservations, etc., and ensuring that every day went smoothly. We have traveled a lot and been to many resorts, and we can say without a doubt that the service provided by Amal was better than anything we have ever experienced. Shanti Maurice is a special place, and even though we paid to be there, we feel lucky to have experienced it. We will be back!

Everything’s a dream. The place is stunning, the service OUTSTANDING. The food is excellent. You can choose between 5 different kitchens… which is hard. Since everything is so yummy! The service in the Star Restaurant is awesome. The staff is great and we would like to thank Vick, Deep, Pravesh, Krishna, Yayna, Aina, Lara, Eudoniat, Nilchil, Dario, Ettoo, Jeremie, Mahipal, Ashmini and Perline for make us feeling at home! The Shanti in the south of Mauritius is a beautiful place. Surrounded by a marvellous park and right on the Indian Ocean. For me, the people at Shanti make this place a magical place. I did a Panchakarma cure for 3 weeks and Dr Avinash R. Tiwari introduced me to the world of Ayurveda with a lot of expertise and friendly support. My therapist Mrs Buddha has healing, magical hands and I had absolutely the most relaxing massages in my life (and I had a lot) Mrs Magaret, her colleague, is also very good. The daily yoga relaxation classes with my yoga teacher Deepak were very special and I learnt a lot from this wise man. In my Ocean Pool Villa I was looked after really well all day by my butler Aman. He took care of my every wish 🤩 and even sent my belongings home which I had forgotten, great service 👌🏼 A thousand thanks to the whole team, everyone was very friendly and I sincerely hope I will come back ❤️
