Reviews for Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle

Unsettling

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

While my stay at the Four Seasons Golden Triangle was enjoyable in terms of luxury and service, I found it hard to fully appreciate the experience due to the troubling realities just a short distance away. The resort itself is beautiful, with exceptional amenities and attentive staff, but the proximity to the scam centers in Cambodia, merely 15 minutes across the river, cast a shadow over my visit. It was difficult to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings knowing that people are being trafficked into these exploitative situations. The contrast between the resort's opulence and the grim circumstances of those nearby felt jarring and unsettling. While the Four Seasons provides a gorgeous escape, I believe it's essential for travelers to be aware of the complex social issues that linger in the region. This disconnect made it challenging for me to fully enjoy my stay.

Truly unique, amazing spot that has everything you could want!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We have stayed in many adventure lodges in the past and so were very excited to try out this spot. We loved it. The interactions with the elephants in the sanctuary are truly unique and such a highlight. Also, the staff is superb. I love that the Four Seasons higher mostly locals. Their warmth and hospitality shine through! Everyone on staff makes you feel right at home! a few highlights, Poy, the GM, was such a sweet joy. I had read many positive comments about her and they are spot on. Filipo is a new addition to the tea,-he runs food and beverage and it shows! Every morsel we put in our mouth was delicious!! We also love a good cocktail and found in Asia many restaurants don't offer cocktails, so their creativity was a great surprise! Our guide, Norman, was such a delight, we miss his giggle. Ralph was so attentive and cheerful! And the CHEF!!! she is amazing!!! Everyone was great, sorry, I don't remember everyone's names! We were lucky enough to get to experience both one of the luxurious tents and also the lodge. I was so torn about which to book, we had booked the tents (we are a family of 5) and so upon arrival, I asked the manager if the lodge was available at all during our 4 night stay-it was for two nights, so we got to experience both. They were kind enough to move our things. While the tents are amazing, the private pool and hang space of the lodge were perfect for our family. The chef came one night and grilled us dinner and they set up a movie projector and we watched a movie under the stars! We stayed 4 nights so we took advantage of all the resort had to offer. Spa, elephant dinner, bathing the elephants, breakfast with the elephants, hike, in-town excursion, fishing, Burma Bar, cooking class, wine tasting, the common pool, many wonderful meals, etc. All were great. The only thing I may skip would be the fishing. The highlights were elephant bathing, cooking class and the elephant dinner. We also really enjoyed learning about the elephants and how they got to the sanctuary and how the Mohuts spend their lives caring for them. The quality of everything here is beyond 5 stars. If you love an adventure and love elephants, this place is a DO NOT MISS!!

Best experience of my life (and I've had many)!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We could not have enjoyed our time at the Camp more! Going into the trip, we had an idea of what it might be like but the stay far exceeded our expectations. The location is bar none, the elephants are magnificent, and the entire team is outstanding! The attention to detail that we witnessed at the Camp was extraordinary; everything ran so smoothly! We were in complete and utter awe of the impeccable communication within the entire team... somehow all of the staff members knew exactly what our schedule looked like for the day and not just that, even when we made spontaneous decisions, somehow someone was already waiting for us! The food was absolutely delectable during all meals! As far as the tents go, it was like going back in time, it all made you feel like an early explorer, the only difference being that these tents were in the lap of luxury and impeccably clean! I cannot recommend this resort enough, it is an absolutely unique experience unlike any other that you will never forget! The Camp Manager Paweena is by far the best hotel manager we have ever encountered… when you are in her care you will feel like you are truly in paradise!

One of the best Four Seasons Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

The experience is really unique from the start to end. You arrive with boat and have breakfast/dinner with elephants and learn about the local culture. The hotel itself is designed differently for all room and each room represents local culture of Chiang Rai. The staffs are very attentive and food is best I have had in any hotels! Highly highly recommend.
