Ace Hotel Chicago

The front desk Leo was very helpful getting us a taxi to the airport after Uber canceled on me 3 times he was genuinely friendly and very supportive. In addition he brought me cans of water, open the door and made sure he talked to the driver about our destination God bless him, life saver.

The “executive king” room my wife and I had was a decently-sized room with a very nice bed. There was one small chair for sitting. There was no couch nor a comfortable lounging chair. Along the perimeters were a finished plywood desk and lower platform, neither suitable for sitting. The tv was mounted across from the bed but the mount did not swivel. (It was a relatively small tv for such a large space and did not have streaming services.). All in all, the room was a case of form over function. People like to sit and watch tv sometimes. I called and asked for a suite which, per the pictures on the web, included seating. None were available. The bathroom had a tub instead of a walk-in shower. The latter would have been preferable as the tub is not that big. This is not a room for a family with kids. The shower did not have a nice fixture (no hand-held) and the water pressure was low. As a final note, I would highly recommend the hotel eliminate the low, square glass top table in the middle of the open floor space. Its design may fit the vibe of the room but it is a severe tripping hazard (it is nearly invisible during the day and completely so at night). Besides, there was only the one chair next to the table, so the table was completely useless.

The Emily is conveniently located by Fulton Market. The staff was very helpful and worked to make our stay efficient and enjoyable. Many food choices in the area from basic and fast to fine dining. The neo modern industrial room decor made good use of the room space and we were comfortable.

The Executive King Room was so spacious and comfortable! Me and my girl celebrated our anniversary and needed a hotel that was close to the West Loop based on the things we had planned. And the staff at the desk were so kind, helpful,and even have us recommendations for things to do nearby! I will definitely be returning to the Emily!

Our experience exceeded our expectations. The customer service was exceptional, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The mini bar with snacks was a delightful touch, rarely seen in hotels these days. We will certainly stay here again whenever we are in town.
