About the Hotel

A very stylish hotel
This is a very stylish hotel with a fun name—The Chicago Athletic Association. As you walk in, it’s quite dark inside, and the lobby is truly unique, filled with tables where some people are working, others are reading, and there’s even a fireplace. All in all, it’s a very old-school hotel that’s worth experiencing. The location is excellent, right across from the Art Institute of Chicago, close to the Cloud Gate (the Bean), and near the starting point of Route 66.

Great Hotel - Bad Wedding Plan
Very loud music from a weeding at the hotel until after midnight. Unable to sleep. We complained and were promised a refund, but haven't received it yet. Staff were apologetic but did not take any action to lower the volume. Ruined the night.

Monumental place
What a special place! Definitely pay the extra for a room facing Millenium park. Cozy, trendy, historic, and memorable. We enjoyed just walking around the building and taking in the history. A must stay in Chicago! Cindy’s rooftop is delicious- even if you can’t get in for dinner, get a cocktail and head out on the rooftop by the fire pits. The Game Room also had delicious food for a quick bite with no reservation needed. Dog friendly which is always a plus, our pup had a great stay too!

Very nice Hotel. Loved the craftmanship of the Hotel. Great location for the convention center. Food was outstanding. I wish I could have eaten dinner at Cindy's but it was booked every time I tried. The lobby work area was fantastic and comfortable. Took me back to a time gone by. I would defiantly stay again.

Beautifully refurbished and right across from Millennium Park with incredible views from the higher floors.
Great location across from Millennium Park and relatively close to the Navy Yard, Little Italy, Chinatown, etc. Beautifully refurbished and with many interesting historical elements. The suite was very comfortable with plenty of room, a perfect shower, blackout curtains that were easy to draw, and a pommel horse at the base of the bed. The amenities in/near the lobby, the associated bars/restaurants, and the family games (air hockey, billiards, darts, foosball, basketball, etc. were interesting and fun for all ages.
