Fairmont Chicago’s new design catapulted it to the top of hotel options in The Loop, Chicago’s business and theater district that’s home to many of the city’s cultural attractions. Past an opulent gold-hued lobby awaits a collection of guest rooms dressed in a natural color palette of cream, chocolate and mossy green highlighted by a bold floral print from Warwick Orme. Marble baths come with a separate rainfall shower and soaking tub, and for further relaxation, the spa offers couples’ soaks in a sumptuous suite.

We stayed at Fairmont Chicago for our wedding anniversary in October. Beautiful hotel. Perfect venue to walk around the city. I’m a wheelchair user. The staff were excellent, a special mention to Tim Muhsen and Alex Abello. Who made our stay very special, they recommended restaurants and sightseeing musts. We even went to Chicago Bull basketball game. A must to do. Can’t wait to go back

We stayed at the Fairmont for four days during the Chicago Marathon. The location was great next to Millenium Park and within easy walking distance to the Art Institute as well as the river. Our room was on a Gold floor and was was well arranged and spacious with double aspect windows although nothing of note to see other than into apartments. The bed was super comfortable and bathroom new and very clean. Access to the Gold lounge provided a good breakfast although, obviously, it was quite busy during the 4 days around the Marathon. I was surprised by a woman participating in a noisy conference call during the breakfast - I had to ask her to quiet it down so perhaps this type of activity should not be allowed in the lounge as it was disturbing. Suggestions: 1) it took almost a month for the concierge to followup on the email I sent asking for suggestions for a Chicago stay - by that time, I had done my own planning 2) I booked a Gold room and wasn't informed about the check-in on the gold floor so had to wait in the long line checking in on Saturday for the Marathon -p/s include this information on the room confirmation! and 3) don't allow conference calls in the Gold class lounge - do you provide a space somewhere else?

We had a wonderful experience! From the front desk greeting us and checking us in to the amazing doorman Benjamin, who helped us daily to get transportation and gave us wonderful recommendations around town. He even brought my son a souvenir to take home as a memory of his time in Chicago! Everything was very clean and organized. Hotel was centrally located. Beautiful lobby!

Excellent stay except for high cost of valet parking and under staffing to handle service in the evening. Recommend utilizing Lyft or Uber in loo of rental car. Love the “green” environment utilizing recycling and bamboo utensils. Great location with plenty of sightseeing and great restaurants within walking distance. Also, Cloud Gate or better known as the “Bean” is just up the street.

The good and the bad. The good - there is a new restaurant called Toro. Good food and be sure to get the dessert where they place a plastic cover on your table - not to be missed! We like the location - walkable to many interesting sites. The bad - the configuration of the room is such that there is a low chest at the end of the bed. If you are sleeping on the side away from the door watch out!! There is not night light and the corners of the chest are very sharp - very easy to bang your knee if you get up in the night. Also, when pulling our the TV to see from the bed, you have to walk around the edge of the TV - also a hazard at night. We had a friend staying in a similar room with the same problems. Ask for a room without the chest at the end of the bed or move it under the TV. We did not and should have!
