Amazing Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

It was a very nice hotel with friendly staff. Ozel was amazing in helping me navigate and make my stay even more enjoyable. Rook was extra clean and interior of the hotel was luxurious and yet very welcoming. Even tho I’m from Chicago I felt like I was on vacation.

Love coming here.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We love working here! We often come in to do hair and makeup for guests staying here The staff is extremely friendly, and the rooms are spacious with large windows that provide excellent natural lighting. At night, the city lights create a beautiful view from the rooms. While we usually work in the larger rooms, the smaller ones are also quite nice.

Stinks

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The only reason I didn't rate 1 star is because the staff was phenomenal. Aside from the staff, the stay was disappointing. There was an odd, decomposing/dead smell wafting around the 5th floor. The smell wasn't present on other floors or in other rooms. I stayed with several colleagues for a training. I had originally booked with another hotel, but moved to be with my colleagues. I wish I had kept my other booking. I only stayed for 2 nights. The first night I only arrived in my room at a late hoour to sleep, so I didn't have time to inspect the accommodations. Upon doing so the second evening in my room I noticed several disturbing things. There was a stain on a pillow (I had not yet touched, thankfully) that was most definitely blood. There was bubbling and discoloration (mold?!) in the ceiling above the toilet. The room temperature refused go below 71°. My dark view included a brick wall. I've never stayed in such an off-putting Hilton. Spend your money elsewhere. This place is definitely not worth the price.

Conference stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I came here for the 2024 IAWP conference the first week of September. I shared a room with my long time friend and colleague. While we have traveled together in the past and managed fine in regular room, we opted for one with two bathrooms. It was very convenient. We didn't opt for a room with a view, and ended up looking into our co-worker's room! If I were to come back for pleasure, I would pick a room with a view. The room was smaller, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was terrific, and we were able to make the most of our week in Chicago from this hotel as it was very close to all the major highlights. The conference rooms were a bit different. Some were in older rooms and not designed for large group presentations. I didn't eat in the hotel, except for the catered lunches at the conference which were delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Worthwhile stay on Marathon weekend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Grant Park and the Start/Finish line for the Chicago Marathon. We were able to check in and have a room assigned to us mid morning when we arrived which was super convenient. The hotel is well-suited to business as well as casual travelers. There are plenty of elevators and we never had to wait long, which, for a hotel of its size, is impressive. The morning of the marathon, we were at the starting line within 10 minutes of leaving the hotel. The el isn’t far from the hotel as well. We are at the Irish pub a couple of times and the service was smooth, food delivered to the table promptly. Waitstaff was courteous. We would definitely return.
