I was in town for a conference, and the location worked well. Walking distance to restaurants and transit. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was on the 8th floor, which did involve navigating a short set of stairs after getting off the elevator. Not an issue for me, but may be a surprise to someone not expecting it. Room was comfortable and relatively quiet (for being in a busy downtown area). Felt safe, no issues.

The Hotel Blake was the perfect place to stay! Everyone was very friendly and helpful! It was a beautiful hotel within walking distance of many Chicago attractions! There were plenty of restaurants, shops and neat places to see! Would highly recommend staying there!

Hotel Blake is not only located in the historical Morton building, but also in the heart of the south loop close to so many different public transportation options. The sirens, honking, and traffic noises are pretty loud if you're staying on the 3rd floor but if you're used to the city...it only took the second night to get used to. The bed was super comfy and we got lucky enough with a corner unit so we got plenty of natural light coming through in the morning with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows. Bathroom was very large and clean. Some sewage gas smells, but that could be from old plumbing. It didn't deter from the stay. Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

I really liked Hotel Blake. It's a great location on S Dearborn, close to coffee and dinner places. I tried Gino's East for pizza and Maharajah for Indian and enjoyed both. The people at HB were seriously nice and helpful and I particularly liked the guys at the front entrance. Whilst it didn't feel like a dangerous neighbourhood at all, it was good to know that they were there. The room itself was spacious and I enjoyed the sleep. If I had one gripe, it was with the shower and this isn't unique to Hotel Blake. Showers should not require university level knowledge to operate. The shower itself was pretty good, but actually getting it to the desired setting was by no means obvious. For state of the art, I give you The Inn On Boltwood in Amherst, MA. There are three settings, cold, warm and hot and the best stream ever, gets delivered. It's almost like you shower faster due the water pressure. Anyway, all up, can definitely recommend Hotel Blake and I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
