Hyatt Regency Chicago

Beware of additional fees! I have never been charged an early check-in fee if a room was available and already cleaned upon arrival. I accepted the fee because we really needed to offload our baggage and change our clothes. But, I was also unwittingly charged a $25 "upgrade fee" to look at Stetson ave with no view whatsoever. I did not consent to this charge. I was also charged a bogus $25 "destination fee." The hotel has no pool, the rooms are average (cheap vinyl flooring and small bathrooms) and they do not offer any outstanding amenities compared to their competitors. You do get a $25 dining credit in one of their restaurants... which got us 2 drinks that we forced ourself to drink as to not lose more money! If you have kids, skip the lure of the "low" price on 3rd party bookers and find a hotel that has a pool.

Everything about the stay was better than expected. The room was clean and thoughtfully designed. The view of the river at Christmas time was magical. The food in the breakfast buffet was excellent. And the staff in every department was extremely helpful. That’s quite a feat for a property that’s so big.

Stayed for a one-night business trip. This is a quality Hyatt urban hotel with spacious rooms and good Globalist breakfast at the lobby buffet. It's a bit of a complex inside (the hotel is actually two buildings connected by a skybridge), so you'll want to be comfortable with walking quite a bit to get to the amenities.

Great location next to Riverwalk and Michigan Ave. Hotel is well appointed. Liked the Grab n'go Market inside, as well as the restaurant. Breakfast was bountiful with lots of choices of hot sides as well as made-to-order omlettes. I got the continential breakfast. Perfect. Was charged $25 for an early check in (1pm instead of 3pm), which was the first time that had ever happened at a hotel. Good valet and staff around to help navigate the hotel. Stayed in West Tower, nice to be able to access the main hotel all while inside.

The hotel was ideally located in the heart of Chicago! It is steps away from fabulous restaurants, tourist attractions, and shopping. It was clean, beautiful, and the staff were helpful. The hotel room was immaculate with a comfortable bed, lots of space, and extremely clean. I will definitely stay here again.
