Reviews for Hyatt Regency Chicago

An overall good to great experience.

Spent the weekend in Chicago with my 16-year-old son, for sightseeing, good food, and museums. I'm in Chicago frequently and the Hyatt Regency is one of the largest hotels at which I've ever stayed. The lobby is huge, bustling, and noisy, so be prepared for this. Thankfully, guest rooms are in separate towers, and the West Tower where we stayed ended up being very quiet. The renovation is wonderful, and the guest room was spotless. The fitness center was great, and the complementary sparkling water machine was an appreciated "plus"! The location is great. The view of the river and surrounding buildings was great. The amenities for being a Hyatt program member are also a great perk, and the food and beverage credit worked out well. As you can probably tell, I'd stay this is a great hotel. Just be aware it is a large, convention style hotel. I would stay here again!

Amazing getaway

Beautiful ambiance of the hotel and location with everything within walking distance or via the CTA. Weather was refreshing , deep dish pizza good, 360 observation at Skydeck is a must see. Wrigleyville stroll was cool. Millennium Park ice skating ⛸️ was fun.

Great staycation in downtown Chicago!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had another fantastic stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago! My wife and kids thoroughly enjoyed our room and the entire staff. As globalists, we were upgraded to a suite with a beautiful view of the river and downtown Chicago. As globalists, we also received breakfast, club access (on weekends!), and valet service! The Murphy beds in the newly renovated suites were incredibly comfortable and far superior to a traditional sofa bed. They provided ample space during the day, allowing us to fully utilize our room. The breakfast staff at the restaurant was fantastic, and the valet service was quick and reliable. My girls loved running into the club to grab a drink before heading out for the day, and being on the club level was an added bonus. It’s a huge hotel, but the staff makes it work. Dylan, the Director of Quality Assurance, personally reached out to us before our stay to ensure we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. If you’re staying in downtown Chicago, I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Chicago!

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at.

This hotel is fantastic!! The rooms are great, nice and clean, all staff we interacted with were so nice and accommodating and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Eugene in the Big Bar was fabulous- great sense of humor. Great workout area. And the elevators!!!! We never had to wait for them and for a hotel this huge that means a lot. We will definitely be back. 🙂

Beware of the hidden fees!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Beware of additional fees! I have never been charged an early check-in fee if a room was available and already cleaned upon arrival. I accepted the fee because we really needed to offload our baggage and change our clothes. But, I was also unwittingly charged a $25 "upgrade fee" to look at Stetson ave with no view whatsoever. I did not consent to this charge. I was also charged a bogus $25 "destination fee." The hotel has no pool, the rooms are average (cheap vinyl flooring and small bathrooms) and they do not offer any outstanding amenities compared to their competitors. You do get a $25 dining credit in one of their restaurants... which got us 2 drinks that we forced ourself to drink as to not lose more money! If you have kids, skip the lure of the "low" price on 3rd party bookers and find a hotel that has a pool.
