The Langham, Chicago

No words will do this hotel justice; you just need to go and experience it for yourself. This hotel had been on my bucket list for some time, and it did not disappoint. The best hotel we stayed at during a 7-week trip to the U.S. I had saved for a long time to be able to stay at this hotel and Langham New York for a special occasion. Langham, Chicago, exceeded my expectations. The timing of our booking was great; there was an offer to stay 3, pay for 2. This helped with the cost. We arrived early and were greeted by the friendly Louisa. Louisa organised a quiet room, which was available a couple of hours after we arrived. Louisa was engaging and was interested to learn a bit about us. We had booked a club room and were given access to the club lounge whilst waiting for our room. Laura greeted us and looked after us for our 3 days. Laura was super friendly and attentive; she remembered our coffee order each morning and dietary requirements. It was a pleasure seeing her each morning. The breakfast offering is vast, and there is a good selection of snacks during the day. Nighttime cocktails and food were of very high quality, and the hot offerings changed each night. It was great to try Chicago hotdogs and deep-pan pizza. If you like prawns, you are in for a treat. A massive bowl of prawns was available each night. I love a cocktail, and it was fantastic that you could make your own. The staff were also happy to make them for us. Kyle makes a mean Manhattan. Joseph and David also made sure we were well looked after. The staff were young and enthusiastic; you get the sense that they enjoy their jobs. It was nice to have a chat and get to know each one of them a bit. Kyle also gave a great recommendation for an architectural boat tour. Views from the club will blow you away. It was exactly how I had pictured Chicago to be. It is a stunning city near the river and lake. Our room was absolutely stunning, spacious, super clean, and had a beautiful bathroom. We had a view of buildings; next time I might book a room with a view, although I’m not sure you need it if you have club access. The room was beautiful and quiet. I would describe myself as a Langham junkie; I am trying to tick off as many as I can. I thought the Langham New York would be the highlight of our trip, but that turned out to be very underwhelming. Chicago Langham is the best Langham we have stayed at so far; the Langham Gold Coast is a close second. Not only is the hotel stunning, but the staff make the stay special. Every single person we interacted with, including the people by text message, were awesome. If you are thinking about staying here, just do it; you will not be disappointed. The hotel is within walking distance of Navy Pier and The Bean. Thanks to all staff, including those behind the scenes, you have left me with great memories and a desire to return someday.

What an amazing experience! We truly enjoyed our time at the Langham! From the moment we stepped out of the Uber to the drive to the airport in the black SUV. Talk about service - we can't wait for our next trip to Chicago! Many thanks!

Our experience at The Langham, Chicago was truly phenomenal and a perfect example of luxury at its finest. From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of with exceptional service. We had the opportunity to enjoy all the facilities and dine at every restaurant on the property, and each experience exceeded our expectations.

Overall great hotel but service can be slow especially service to the pool area. Executive Lounge is one of the best. Some rooms don’t have the best view especially facing west (big blank wall of the Hotel Chicago building - yuck!).

Having our daughter's wedding and reception at The Langham Chicago was the best decision! Vasso Power, Director of Catering, and her team were a pleasure to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure our daughter and her husband had the wedding of their dreams. Vasso even asked for a photo of the bride and groom to share with the staff so they would recognize them throughout the wedding weekend in the hotel. The cocktail hour was held in an area outside of the ballroom which created a great transition once it was time for dinner. It is very intimate having the whole third floor dedicated to the wedding space. The chef created a menu that our guests are still talking about! The food portions were very generous and served to perfection. The wine and spirit selections kept our guests happy and dancing all night long. We had the morning after brunch at the hotel and it was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing weekend. The special touches (treats delivered to rooms and special gifts for the bride and groom) and top notch hospitality made the wedding something that we will never forget.
