The Langham, Chicago

We booked a weekend night at The Langham with our children for a local event. Unfortunately our stay did not meet our expectations and we much preferred the Peninsula from a previous stay. We requested an early check in and arrived at 11AM to be told that our room should be ready by 3. We were not able access our room until after 5pm which required speaking to a manager. At this point, the manager offered compensation but told us that we would need to call to discuss. We then wasted more time on the phone (leaving multiple messages) attempting to clarify. Our room was otherwise fine but the frosted glass wall between the bedroom and bathroom does not block any light if someone is trying to sleep and the bathroom light is on. We found the bar area to be extremely quiet with very little atmosphere in the evening. However, service was very good there and breakfast room service was also very timely and positive. Based on all of the glowing reviews, I’m hoping we just had a one-off experience but there was nothing particularly special about the stay. I provided the same feedback on an after-stay survey and received a boiler plate response from the manager that we dealt with so it really confirmed my initial feedback.

I had a weekend staycation at the Langham to celebrate my birthday. Overall, the staff at the hotel are topnotch. The hotel and spa are beautiful. I enjoyed all the amenities in the hotel during the weekend: the steam rooms and sauna and the pool area. Unfortunately, I cannot give more stars because there was a security breach that occurred during my stay - I came back to my hotel room and found the door propped open with a tissue box. I reported this to the front desk. They later informed me that housekeeping left the door propped open and security surveyed the cameras and said no one entered my room during the time the door was left open. They apologized and offered to move me to another room. I declined the move to another room and accepted the apologies but I still feel uneasy about the whole incident. I would love to visit again because I thought the hotel was awesome overall but I probably will not due to this incident

Very beautiful hotel! Staff were very pleasant and professional. I had the pleasure of assessing the Club Lounge room on 12c. Everything and everyone was absolutely amazing . Book your next stay here, you will not be disappointed. 5 star rating!

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Langham Chicago. The service is stellar and the hotel is gorgeous! It’s immaculately clean and well-taken care of. The rooms are beautiful and so well-done. We ate at Travelle several times and had room service a few times. All of our meals were delicious and fresh. We’ve stayed at Peninsula down the street a few times but Langham will now be our new favorite. Also, shout out to Marcus at the front desk who was so kind and friendly, and even gifted us with a Langham teddy bear to take home to our daughter. Thank you Langham Chicago for a wonderful stay!

Room Service never came to our room the entire 3 days we were there. They told us we had to call for service.
