Short and sweet stay with Great service of Mariana..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

1st We had a tour with the guide and she has given a great information about castel history and followed by the apertivo and dinner. Chef luca has created a wow dinner and his culinary team has done the fantastic dishes. Mariana and her colleagues did the service for the dinner. Both of them has provided top notched service. If you visit castel brando meet chef Luca, and get the service from mariana you will feel so happy and excited. Thank you so much for everything ❤️!

Impressive Castle but a Bit Depressing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The castle is very impressive-looking and the staff helpful, but overall a stay here is a bit on the depressing side, with even the nicest rooms being a big drab and underlit. The restaurant staff is friendly and the food generous and adequate, but one normally has to go outside to get to the restaurant, even in the rain. Also one has to go outside to get to the garage and to up a long staircase without railings to get to the breakfast room. It turns out that there are special ways to get to the restaurant, garage and breakfast room without the above inconveniences, which the helpful staff member at the reception desk took time to show us and which helped greatly. So, if this is a problem for you, be sure to ask how to do this. Finally, the breakfast is unexciting.

Amazing experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

My husband and I spent the most amazing eight days at CastelBrando. We were joined for the last five days by four friends, because we really wanted them to experience with us this beautiful real castle, where you can go through history, while enjoying all the confort the most modern hotels would offer. Everything is beyond perfect at CastelBrando, the building, the rooms, breakfast and dinner spaces, service and food... Nevertheless, what makes it even more special, if this is at all possible, is the staff. Everybody is friendly, efficient, ready to help. What I really need to say is a huge thank you to the team at the Front Office Department. Each one of them found a way to offer us this extraordinary experience: they helped us get three beautiful rooms, adding two of them at my last minute request, they solved our transfer needs, for our visits they recommended us the marvellous Pierina, they even managed to find our prosecco glasses we had lost (too happy with our Prosecco tour experience to take care of them)... Thank you, everybody, and Congratulation!

Museum - not a hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

First of all in my opinion this is not a hotel but rather a Wedding Venue. The building is impressive but remember it was built as a castle not a hotel with the comfort and facilities you would expect - especially for the considerable amount demanded. It is a rambling building - breakfast is served 2/3 up a massive flight of stairs. Nice to look at but a huge climb to reach it from the lobby area. The restaurant also involves a very tortuous route to and from the rooms and a lot more stairs, depending on where your room is. We paid extra for an upgrade. Big mistake - yes the room was bigger but hardly comfortable. Lots of space maybe but no balcony and the views could only be seen through windows at shoulder hight so you have to stand to see them. Seated you just stare at the walls or the TV (Italian language only) The en-suite was very tired and had a shower over bathtub that involved a huge step to get in and out. Negotiating the building is difficult with poor (or non-existing) so it can be very frustrating finding your way around. Think of it more as a museum and you’ll have a better idea of what it’s like. There is no regular swimming pool as such - just a number of spa style tubs and a dip pool for they wanted to charge 20 € per person for our hours! Outrageous! The bar (only open at 4pm) is the lobby so hardly a place to relax with people checking in and out and the young lady serving the bar was very brusque - more suited to being a traffic warden I would suggest. Yes one or two staff were actually friendly but overall we feel we were intruding on a place set up for an impressive wedding but nothing more. Fine for a visit but NOT a place to stay - there are much better hotels if you want to stay in the area for more than one day.

An experience to remember.

What a grand place unlike anything else. The staff is wonderful and kind. So much to see and do. Giorgia behind the bar in the lobby was “the best”. I am grateful. A must see place if you’re in Italy. Vanilla gelato with hot raspberries was to die for.
