About the Hotel

Striking a perfect balance between the natural beauty of the lake, viewed from a splendid terrace, and the vibrant life of the city, the Terminus is the ideal hotel for those who don't want to miss any of the many unforgettable experiences that Como has to offer. Born out of a complete restructuring of an early 19th century Italian landmark, this waterfront hotel on the shores of Lake Como boasts composite Liberty-style architecture and the noble design characteristics of the Lombard aristocracy. Verdant, climbing moss ascends the main building, while manicured lawns and lush shrubbery border walkways and paths, inspiring visions of Old World affluence. Sophisticated and traditional indoors as well as out, Albergo Terminus arouses tranquility with classic marble, plush furnishings, and dark, mahogany woodwork. From intimate Standard Rooms to the palatial Penthouse Suite, every level of accommodation has its own unique comforts and distinctive design, but all share the same extraordinary amenities, including satellite color television, the finest Italian silks, and opulent bedding. Stretched across a destination flocked to by the American elite and European gentry, your stay at Albergo Terminus is the start of an exquisite escape.

Acceptable, what you get is Location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The approach will truly put you off. Right across from the ferries, which, while convenient, is far from charming. The hotel feels like an upscale pensione. Rooms are small, not a deal breaker, as they often are everywhere in Italy (at this price point) But the bathroom, ugh! Teeny, tiny - no place to put toiletries. Worst of all is the bathtub/shower situation. You are taking your life in your hands every time you attempt a shower or a bath. Dangerously slippery and narrow! Husband & I both almost slipped even while taking precaution. What else: public areas nice enough if modest. Very good breakfast spread (though spoiled milk one day in my cappuccino). Staff: waitstaff for breakfast & cocktails, very accommodating, front desk nice enough, tried to provide info requested, but not always accurate (hours of operation or locations, sometimes off base). What you do get is cleanliness, and a fabulous location to get around to the lake towns (as mentioned: ferries are steps away),, the main square & the other sites in Como.

No Apology !

Perfect location Tons of History The hotel is clean and the reception along with the concierge were very accommodating Our breakfast was outstanding with a nice selection of Food Unfortunately, on Friday nite the hotel hosted a Party that was directly below our 3rd Floor Room It started around 7pm and the high volume noise and partying went on till almost Midnite (5hrs of yelling, screaming and singing) We politely complained twice on the phone (my wife) and then once in person (myself) and they absolutely ‘refused’ to do anything This was unacceptable and showed us that they could not care less about the clients that paid a lot of money to stay in their Hotel Even though the Hotel had many good characteristics…………this Saturday nite experience put a real black mark on our stay only because the General Manager refused to address the situation We do not recommend this Hotel there are others along the main road that you need to consider first before you consider Albergo Terminus We didn’t even get an apology!!!

Albergo Terminus in Como, Italy

Great location, right at the front of lake Como and ferry terminal. The hotel was very clean throughout, staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were large and looking over Piazza Cavour and the lake. (Partial) Breakfast was both rich and delicious. I recommend Terminus Hotel in Como.

Great Hotel

We were travelling on a tour with ten other people and this was the best hotel we stayed at by far. Lovely spacious room with lovely linen and partial view of the lake. Large well equipped bathroom with toiletries, bathrobes and even a walk in robe. Good breakfast and close to all restaurants

Not a Lake Como view

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Lake Como has been in my dreams for many many years. Unfortunately this hotel was chosen for us as a pre extension for a river cruise we were doing. I had high expectations and they were mostly not met with this hotel. We arrived to hotel at 8:30am after an overnight flight from the east coast of United States. Every time we have traveled our room has always been ready. However, this was not the case. Long story short our room was not ready until 2:30 even though there were people checking out from the moment we arrived continually. We even tried to upgrade to any available room and would have paid anything but the staff at front desk was just not nice nor helpful. We went back every 1-2hours as we were exhausted but no room. What is equally annoying as nothing was made available to us. I believe breakfast was being served but that was not offered. Waters were not offered. They did take our luggage but we really wanted to freshen up but could not. There was also a “host” there from our river cruise and he was equally as useless. He did not provide any guidance as to where to go, what to see, so after sitting in lobby for an hour and half we went out and got gelato. Finally when room was available I believe we got worst room, 309, as was next to elevator and view was of an alley filled with garbage and recycling. And yes, very noisy as garbage and bottles dumped throughout night. We tried to change but again staff not helpful. The size of room fine, but shower was all glass with two movable panels so you could not rest against a solid surface, Also hair dryer attached to area by sink was so heavy it was impossible to hold high over head to use. Breakfast buffet was lovely in a garden setting……wish we were directed there while waiting for room. Had dinner and food was good but service was very lacking and disjointed. Location wonderful. I think his could be good hotel but believe wait staff and front desk need better guidance.

The Albergo Terminus is a special place. Managed by the incredibly warm Cristina Zucchi, her outstanding staff takes great pride in looking after guests, and they are incredibly helpful from check-in to departure...
The Terminus is decorated with lively colors and prized fabrics made from the finest of Lake Como silk. The hotel offers fantastic views of Lake Como, and its location in front of the town makes it easy for you to walk around and explore everything.
If you come to this region looking for George Clooney and his famous villa along Lake Como, the Albergo Terminus will not disappoint.
The hotel's popular Bar delle Terme, a café restaurant with seating for just 20 people inside plus a beautiful outdoor terrace which is popular with the locals, is managed by THE George Clooney look alike, Maurizio, who is happy to pose for pictures with guests.
