About the Hotel

Tresanton is a cluster of houses on the edge of St Mawes, one of the prettiest fishing villages in Cornwall. All rooms have views across the sea towards St Anthony’s lighthouse. Tresanton has 30 rooms and suites, a restaurant with large terraces, a room for private parties, a dogs’ bar and a private sailing boat. We love children and have a playroom and children’s garden. There is no muzak whatsoever at Tresanton only the sound of the waves and the occasional Sea Shanty.

Reviews for Hotel Tresanton

An exceptional experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

From the time we arrived to the time we departed, we could not fault this hotel. We were met outside by two friendly porters, who not only carried our luggage up to our first floor room, but also parked our car very carefully in the hotel's car park a short drive away. We were immediately impressed with our fabulous warm room overlooking the sea. Our luxurious double walk-in ensuite shower was superb, as was our large comfortable superking bed. We had booked dinner on two consecutive evenings and the food was on a par with any first class restaurant. The breakfast was equally good and we particularly appreciated the freshly squeezed juices. We have to make a special mention regarding the staff. They were all, without exception, polite, friendly and extremely professional. We would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful hotel.

Lucky us!

Lucky us to stay at this hotel! Service was a top priority for staff. Stylish, comfortable and spacious room ( 14, I think) with sea views. Wonderful, brimming cocktails and possibly the best breakfast I've ever had, particularly the continental choice but also the local sausage and marmalade. This hotel focuses on quality. The two-night stay was a treat for us as I've always wanted to visit. Wine list and food menu had very reasonably-priced options. The atmosphere and aesthetic was relaxed and stylish.

Christmas by the Sea

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our stay was exactly like the 661 other people who rated Tresanton Hotel excellent. Everything about our Christmas stay was superb, we liked the managed informality, the staff who were oh so helpful yet relaxed and happy to chat with guests. There were carol singers, a midnight mass visit organised, Father Christmas popped in and left presents. Delicious 5 star cooking and cosy rooms, posh valet parking and bracing walks along the seafront. A few pubs and shops to visit before scurrying back to the hotel. One of the best Christmas’s we can remember.

Stunning in all respects

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

From arrival to leaving a seamless flawless experience. Fantastic views across the harbour from the restaurant and deck as you would imagine from a former yacht club. Luckily the weather was such that we could sit outside. Our room and bathroom were spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The food was excellent and locally sourced where feasible. Not cheap but a great experience nevertheless. Will be back.

A perfect place to unwind.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The impeccable service is what makes this place stand out. Staff are so well trained without being over attentive. Food is also very good. Just a little tired here and there in terms of decor, but that’s a minor observation. If the hotel is busy the reception can become rather overcrowded.
