Glorietta Bay Inn is a century-old mansion originally built by sugar magnet John D. Spreckels in 1908. Its envious location, overlooking the bay on lovely Coronado island across the harbor from downtown San Diego, is just one block from the beach and steps away from a fleet of upscale shops and restaurants that line charming Orange Avenue. The rooms, housed in both the original mansion and a more modern annex, are all newly-remodeled with varying appointments. Those who slumber beneath the storied roofs enjoy extra plush bedding and fabulous views, plus turndown service with milk and cookies left bedside for late-night noshing. All guests are privy to an expanded continental breakfast and afternoon refreshments. The inn also has a refreshing swimming pool for anyone wanting to take a plunge.

First class staff! Enjoyed the mystique and history of the property. Breakfast was excellent. Love the location, had amazing dinner just 4 minute walk away. Quiet and relaxing environment! Will have to come back again for more fun at the local restaurants and pubs.

My wife and I were looking for a staycation in San Diego to celebrate our anniversary and baby moon. I called to make the reservation (calling is way better, trust) and JACKIE helped book our room. She was incredible giving us a better rate than online and had the best attitude. So impressed with the staff accommodating my pregnant wife and myself. The location of the rooms and hotel is perfect. Couldn’t be more impressed by their service.

My Fiancé and I stayed here for our Anniversary and had a stellar stay! We both work in Hospitality and were extremely grateful for the thoughtfulness that the staff put into making our stay special. It truly felt like home. We stayed in the Sugar Baron Mansion Suite and appreciated the historical beauty of the property and room (also the room had a fantastic view) Check-in with JT was smooth and he was extremely friendly and made us feel like VIPs. My fiancé and I were blown away by the thoughtful gift bag and champagne in our room with a beautiful note from JT and Claudia. Thank you for making our stay and anniversary special! We will be back!

I cannot express how wonderful the staff and management were to us. We had a medical situation which prevented us from leaving as scheduled. The staff found us a more accommodating room, arranged for an extremely late check out the next day and held the room an extra day just in case. Beyond all of that you could just tell they cared. Our room was great, the proximity to the beach and restaurants is unbeatable and the amenities beat expectations. We will be back.

I booked this hotel because of the great reviews. While checking in I noticed a message that said there's construction going on next door. I wasn't given this information when I booked. Sure enough, when we got to our room, on a Saturday at 4:00pm, we were greeted with the sounds of drilling and hammering. I looked out the bedroom window and the construction was 10ft away in the building next door! After a lovely late night out on Sunday I was awoken by the sounds of hammering and drilling at 7:15am! Our view out the front door was of the parking lot. It looked as if most of the views at this hotel were of the parking lot. The bathroom was very small and the bathtub floor was lumpy. Windows did not keep any of the noise out. There was a container of Damp Rid on the floor in our room and it was completely filled with water. I would say that this hotel is in dire need of a remodel. The location of this hotel is great.

We stayed at Glorietta Bay in the Sugar Baron Suite. The overall experience was outstanding with service world-class. We would definitely stay at the Glorietta Inn again.
