About the Hotel
Glorietta Bay Inn is a century-old mansion originally built by sugar magnet John D. Spreckels in 1908. Its envious location, overlooking the bay on lovely Coronado island across the harbor from downtown San Diego, is just one block from the beach and steps away from a fleet of upscale shops and restaurants that line charming Orange Avenue. The rooms, housed in both the original mansion and a more modern annex, are all newly-remodeled with varying appointments. Those who slumber beneath the storied roofs enjoy extra plush bedding and fabulous views, plus turndown service with milk and cookies left bedside for late-night noshing. All guests are privy to an expanded continental breakfast and afternoon refreshments. The inn also has a refreshing swimming pool for anyone wanting to take a plunge.

Old, musty, and mildewed
This is like the hotel that time forgot. At some point this might have been a lovely resort but now it seems to have fallen into not keeping up. The rooms are old, mildewed, and bound to set off allergies if you are at all prone. While their management claims they will do a big renovation in another year, but for now, I’d go elsewhere.

Stayed in the “mansion” years ago and it was great. Was excited to return. Just a regular room this time. It was, frankly, disgusting. Bathroom was absolutely filthy. Ants in the shower. Disgustingly stained carpets. Room smelled horrible. Clearly, they are living on the history and location. This place has lost its luster. Breakfast was no better. Undercooked eggs and wet bacon. The coffee was hot at least. I can’t complain about customer service as everyone was very nice…but don’t stay here because they smile. Our room was horrible and I can’t imagine it’s the only one. They need to spend some money truly cleaning the place. Yuck!

AMASING, NICE, Good service, very clean. Best service I have ever seen. And I live this. I love the breakfast buffa this is such a cute idea to do a gift basket too I love how you guys have dinner and the rooms are so cozy. I love how this hotel is right near everything.

Business and pleasure
This was not my first stay and the Glorietta Bay Inn, and it won’t be my last… Beautiful location, excellent customer service and wonderful rooms with views. I was hosting a group of 7 colleagues on this trip and everyone raved about their experience.

Hospitable
Reception by Yana was friendly and accommodating. I appreciated her hospitality, setting me up with entertainment while I waited for my room. Mad props to Noah , a young gentleman, on college tours played beautiful music . The waiting room was outfitted with comfortable seating , puzzles , books, and a view .

We stayed at Glorietta Bay in the Sugar Baron Suite. The overall experience was outstanding with service world-class. We would definitely stay at the Glorietta Inn again.
