Savour your first glimpse of this majestic castle and its enchanting lake, as you pass through the castle gates. This was the ancestral home of the O’Briens of Dromoland who were the Kings of Thomond and whose lineage goes back 1,000 years to Brian Boru, the only High King of Ireland.

From start to finish, what a fantastic stay in the beautiful Dromoland Castle - a truly 5 star experience, we loved every moment. Our arrival was met at the door with the renowned Clare hospitality, and from the check-in process to the journey to our room it was the warmest of welcomes. The rooms were really spacious and had all of the lovely touches from the decor to the gorgeous Burren scents. The service only got better from the lounge to the dining room, the Golf Club and to the GM Marks personal greeting at breakfast, it was faultless. On Saturday we played golf in the rain, which was a pleasure due to the magnificent surroundings, the personalised golf tags and the course condition. A really truly memorable stay and one we look forward to repeating again. Thank you to all at Dromoland.

I had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional hospitality from Dara Downs during my stay at Dromoland Castle Hotel. Dara was simply amazing—his warmth, kindness, and professionalism were truly unparalleled. He guided us through the castle with a genuine enthusiasm that made our visit unforgettable. He answered all our questions with patience and ensured we felt completely at home. His manners and dedication to his role are a testament to his character. Dara truly deserves to be recognized as an outstanding manager. It's people like him who elevate the hospitality industry. I look forward to encountering more professionals like him in the future.

From the moment you drive on to the grounds, this retreat will take away your breath. Start with the grand front entrance to the reception desk flanked by suits of armor. As the bellmen scurry along with your luggage, proceed down the meandering corridors featuring framed political cartoons from a bygone era before arriving at your room. The room does not feel like a "hotel," but rather as if you are a guest in a royal palace. Opulent bedding, furniture and decor. Nothing "cookie cutter." The sheer comfort of the bed with several pillows and bolsters made me want to curl up for a nap. The room even had a US electric port, which was very handy and thoughtful. We enjoyed a dinner in the main dining room, as well as breakfasts and an afternoon tea. The tea was hands down better than anything I've had before (including England!) I also have to commend the staff-- not a single staff person passed us without a cheery smile and greeting. The friendliness was striking and welcoming. Just staying here a few nights felt like a much needed vacation and break from the "real" world. Highly recommend.

A five-star experience. From the very friendly staff that greet you on arrival and all the staff you will encounter throughout your stay, no request is a problem. The room was large and the bed comfortable. A real dinning experience was enjoyed in the restaurant. A car from the hotel to the pool is an interesting service. All of this luxury does, however, come at a price.
