Muckross Park Hotel & Spa

Lots to like here. Enjoyed the food and wine selection, the pool and sauna were lovely, the Nespresso machine in the room - with plenty of coffee pods - was class. It's the people that really make this place special though. Every staff member was helpful and I really did feel like a valued guest.

I am going to preface this review by saying I am not usually a negative review writer. I have stayed at this hotel many times, with our family, on trips with my husband, and have recommended it to many people. I have written emails to previous management commending staff and service at this hotel. I had my own wedding here two years ago and never thought I would have cause to write a negative review. That said, on this occasion I’m so angry that I feel a negative review is deserved. I wished to book an apartment, as we have previously done, for our family of 6 - 2 adults and 4 children. I called the hotel to double check that this was possible and was assured it would be no problem. I booked the hotel, for two nights, and a few days later called to arrange for an extra cot or bed for our 3 year old. This experience ended with a call to the manager Lisa, who assured me this was completely against policy. When asked if this was a new policy, I was informed that it was not. When I queried why then that when I was getting married we were able to reserve an apartment for 6 people, with a cot provided, I wasn’t given a clear answer. I was not invited to amend my booking, merely given the option of cancelling. I was generously refunded my deposit. Very disappointed with this whole incident and it has left a very sour taste in my mouth. What was very much a favoured hotel of ours, with such happy associations has now been absolutely tarnished. Plenty of 5 star hotels in Killarney to choose from, I will be giving the Muckross Park Hotel a wide berth from now on.

A most enjoyable stay at Muckross Park Hotel, very friendly obliging and helpful staff, excellent food which in my view is their signature offering, very comfortable bedrooms with relaxing areas throughout the hotel with Killarney National Park just across the road for lovely morning stroll before breakfast and I look forward to returning again very soon.

Gorgeous room, amazing spa facilities and really good food! You can use the spa for free if you are staying in the hotel. There’s hot tubs, saunas, heated beds etc. This was a huge attraction for us to stay here. For this reason we will definitely stay here again!! The food in the monks lounge is gorgeous, very tasty and a great variety on the menu. The hotel breakfast is one of the nicest we ever had and we have stayed in plenty hotels in Ireland and abroad. The room was so comfortable and the bed was amazing. We had the most relaxing time.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and we couldn’t have been happier with everything! I booked a Junior Suite for his birthday, and the staff left a lovely birthday note in the room and delivered a bowl of fruit to the room, with a bottle of wine on arrival. From the second we arrived to the second we left, the staff were so so helpful and friendly. They have really catered the hotel to make everything as convenient as possible for you and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The suite itself was amazing, we were in awe when we got there. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the facilities in the room were endless. The sofa in the room was also extremely comfortable. The spa experience was so lovely, with a hidden staircase that brings you directly to the spa instead of going through the main entrance. We were so excited for our stay here and it didn’t disappoint in the slightest, even exceeding expectations. We can’t wait to come back!
