Alvyn in Sika restaurant made our evening! Ask for him if you go here, he is so attentive professional and engaging, the meal was delicious and the setting is gorgeous but Alvyn topped the experience - great Christmas staycation!

We spent an evening in the Sika restaurant. My better half had the beef and I had the duck, the food was amazing but what made our night was the service. All the staff were great but in particular Alvyn made our evening such a delight, service with a smile and made an already amazing evening even better. 10/10 for the Sika restaurant team and Alvyn in particular.

My wife and I had an absolutely delightful evening in Sika. The food was devine, we went with the tasting menu with paring. We were tented to my Ashley who was an outstanding hostess who tended to our every need and a brilliant unexpected addition to the entire experience. Here colleague Donnacha was also tentative and looking after us.

We’re staying in powerscourt for our minimoon, and the tasting menu at Sika was our final meal. Ashley gave us unbelievable service and great information about the wine pairings and dishes. Would highly recommend for celebrating a special moment.

We stayed in Powerscourt for the night Nov 30th into Dec 1st. The hotel was magnificently decorated for Christmas. It was like walking into a fairytale. When we went to check in there was 3 ahead of us. Even so, one of the reception staff called one of the porters & asked him to offer us some sweets while we were waiting. Such a lovely touch. Our room was a suite looking out onto the water feature. It was amazing. Everything you could want & more was present in the room. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent. We had booked the afternoon tea, which had a festive menu. The girl serving us was so pleasant & helpful. We felt completely relaxed & at home. Later on we took a walk around the grounds, down to garden centre, the avoca shop & the distillery. It was a great way to pass some time. Then we went back to the hotel & used the pool & spa area. It was busy but still very relaxing. We went for a drink in the Sally Gap bar before dinner in the Sika restaurant. The bar had a great buzz in it. Some people eating in it, others like ourselves having a drink before going to the restaurant. Sika was amazing, the food was delicious & so well presented. The staff were so attentive & friendly even though they were fairly busy. We got a little taster before our starters & then we got petit fours afterwards. These added a nice little touch .From we arrived until we checked out we had a wonderful stay. Every member of staff we came in contact with, from managers down to a member of the maintenance team who we met in the corridor, had a welcome & a word to say. We will definitely visit Powerscourt Hotel again & would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about going there. You will not be disappointed.
