About the Hotel

Nestled in Peru's Sacred Valley, a land once belonging to the ancient Inca Empire, you will find a stunning riverfront resort basking in this remote location. Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado is a place where past meets present, showcasing streamlined rooms that rest beneath timbered and beam ceilings. No detail is left to chance, so expect the unexpected. You will discover stylized retreats that pay homage to 13th-century Incan design, with textured walls that are cloaked in warm colors, wooden floors, terraces that gaze across the unspoiled land, and breathtaking valley and river views. Slightly tilted windows that make the most of the sun's rays are masterfully positioned above the oversize shower, creating the illusion of being in the great outdoors.

Reviews for Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado

The most peaceful, relaxing hotel I've ever experienced.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Each room is really a small villa with its own gardened/landscaped terrace. There is a view of the Urubamba River and the mountains; the flowers are lovely; the grass begs you to walk barefoot on it - and it feels like there is no one else around for miles (even though the next room is next door). This is a very vertical property; but there are quiet electric golf carts that the staff uses and they will transport you any time you like. I am normally not a "meditate and relax" kind of guy - but this hotel naturally led me to slow down, enjoy the hummingbirds outside my shower in the morning, and help feed the llamas in the morning. This is a very special place, and I only regret that we had a lot of touring booked such that we never had as much time as we wanted to luxuriate here. The staff is super helpful and kind!

Best days ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I had an amazing time! We stayed for 3 days and not only did we enjoy every second of it, but both days we went on two hikes where we were accompanied by the best guide ever Maribel! She knew what she was talking about, made sure we were okay, but single handedly made it one of the best experiences I have had on any trip! We wish we could have stayed longer and gone on many more hikes with Maribel!

2 nights in the sacred valley

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My husband and I just spent 2 nights at Rio Sagrado in a garden junior suite and we loved every moment. The room was spacious and the patio overlooking the river was idyllic. The staff was incredible and anticipated all of our needs. They offered a lot of interesting included events like bike tours, flower walks and jacuzzi/sauna time that we would have loved to partake if we had more time. We had Dany as our server a few times and he went above and beyond even bringing the baby alpacas over during our outdoor lunch which of course, we loved! Do not miss the baby alpaca feedings!!! They are so cute it’s crazy. The property is stunning and offers a sense of tranquillity while being centrally located for Sacred Valley sight seeing. Would highly recommended spending a few nights here- we wish we could have stayed longer!
