Great hotel Terrible restaurant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

Hotel was lovely. Room was beautiful. Very close to the Plaza. Very short ride to the airport. Staff was very congenial and welcoming. It went downhill in the restaurant for dinner. We were seated in a room by ourselves, a good sized room. Not many people eating in the restaurant . Maybe a clue? Food was fair, way below what should be their standard. Service was terrible. Really terrible. Like no server for 30 minutes plus. At the conclusion of our meal we waited a long time to find anyone passing through the room. None ! So we left, and as we approached the hotel lobby front desk to report our experience our server came running after us. First sighting of him in close to 40 minutes. We recommend dining elsewhere.

Nice room, relatively compact room, nice location in the historic district

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Nice room, relatively compact. Room shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body, lotion, hairdryer, room, safe, slippers, robe, in room, coffee maker, small room. Lots of soft thick towels, but no towel racks & only a couple hooks. Mini fridge. No outside noise. Some Noise from room next-door via connecting door - fortunately fan produces white noise (fan and heat only no AC). water refill station in lobby. Nice location across from Temple of the Sun, 1 block from gourmet chocolate shop (QORU chocolate artesanal), walking distance to main plaza & Cathedral.

A special place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This hotel was a beautiful, luxurious base for us as we explored the wonderful city of Cusco. The hotel is perfectly located a couple blocks from the main plaza but in a bustling neighborhood of its own, directly across from Qorikancha. The hotel is stunning and comfortable. The ground floor common spaces are nicely arranged and meticulously maintained. The staff were amazing: helpful, friendly, accommodating, and always around (seriously, there were usually 3 or 4 concierge working at any given time; there was never a wait at the front desk, the bar, or the restaurant). Our room was huge. A king-sized, overstuffed bed and a full/queen size bed equally plush. And the beds only made up about a third of the room. There was a tray of petit fours for us when we arrived. There was turn down service every night. The breakfast spread was beautiful and abundantly laid out (there is also a menu of items you can order from the kitchen). We came down at different times each morning and everything was always fully stocked. Our final night we dined at Inti Raymi. Excellent food and service sitting next to the inner courtyard as it lit up as dusk set in made for a memorable Thanksgiving. Special shout out to Rosa, our server, and Elmer at the concierge desk who helped with day to day arrangements and was always there to greet us warmly when we returned to the hotel.

Amazing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

It is quite challenging to put into words the essence of this establishment. Housed within a 500-year-old mansion, this hotel is undeniably exceptional. The suite seamlessly blends modern conveniences with traditional Inka design. The check-in process at the front desk was conducted with a sense of understated professionalism, as a member of the staff graciously escorted me to the counter. The hotel, room, and amenities were meticulously detailed in the description. Upon swinging open the grand door to the suite, I found myself involuntarily exclaiming "wow." The room was truly remarkable. The culinary offerings, spanning from breakfast to lunch and dinner, were outstanding, complemented by a stellar staff prepared to fulfill any service requests. Boasting a prime location, this hotel serves as the perfect prelude to embarking on your journey to Machu Picchu.
