Friendly and courteous are always displaying at Dalian Shangri-La, although new faces of service personnel, however standard are well above and beyond reflecting management keep an eye on performance and update professional standard, good job they’ve done.

The hotel has a classic presentation, high ceilings and broad expansive areas. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. The doorman helped with taxis and opening and closing doors. The front desk staff are efficient. The hotel is clean and well kept, and very quiet. The rooms are well appointed and very quiet. The facilities are excellent, great pool and gym, and the onsite restaurants are fantastic.

A very convenient location. My flight arrived late in dalian after a few hours flight delay. The pick up driver has been patiently waiting for my in the arrival haul. When I arrive in the hotel, the room key etc is already prepared for me. I enjoyed the stay in shangrila dalian!

Got to hotel around 7pm. During check in they are unable to find my name with only my passport. So i have to give them my booking confirmation printout. Then they asked me to pay deposit but i said already fully paid. They said cannot find in system. So, i said i want to speak to the manager. He called his manager and said speak to the manager over the phone. I'm like are you serious? Speak over the phone? This is so unprofessional. I told him i want to see the manager face to face. Very hard to communicate in english. He needs to use a translator app to communicate. In this 5 star hotel, the staff can't even speak proper english. Very disappointed. At the end, i have to pull out the payment confirmation from my email. Then he said all is OK. Come one man!!! First they cant find my reservation, then they said they can see that i made payment. And the duty manager is so not free that can only speak over the phone. The room is nice. AC not cold even already set to lowest and blower to highest. Had to open window to let the cool air in. TV channel selection is extremely poor for a 5 star hotel. Gym and sauna facilities are good. Location is good too. Next morning went to the front desk and spoke to the day duty manager about the incident last night. She was very apologetic and speaks good english. She even offered to upgrade my room to club floor which i refused cos i will have to pack and unpack my stuff which is a lot of hassle. She then offered me access to horizon club which is very kind/generous of her. Breakfast selection is good. The chinese tea that i had is very nice. Concierge manager, Michael is also very helpful and patient with me. I have been approaching him for many queries. But the rest of the concierge team again is very weak in English. When i speak to them in English they will push it to their colleagues which are unable to speak in English too.

Special thanks to Horizon Club Miss Crystal, Nico and level 25 team Miss 许慧君. The whole trip was nice with good and polite hotel staff. The hotel is clean and food was nice. Highly recommend to stay here.
