If you are an experienced traveler and understand everything the Fairmont name normally carries with it, you will be sorely disappointed by this property. I stayed here many years ago and it was an elegant, tier one hotel. Now I'm sad to say it has lost all of its lustre. I was given a room on the top floor - the penthouse - and it was a joke. Basic essentials were missing. No bathmat. The shower had almost zero water pressure. There was a total of ONE accessible AC outlet at the bedside and it DIDN'T WORK. I have stayed at budget motels that out-classed this room for basic amenities. Of course the lobby lounge was elegant as ever and eagerly charged me $20 for a drink but the rooms were a different story. If you're getting a good deal to stay at this hotel, just remember that the elegant feel doesn't extend past the lobby. Hard fail. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Out of the hotels I’ve stayed in Texas, particularly in Dallas, this is the best one I’ve experienced so far. The property is clean, safe and made me feel it was worth spending every dollar on. The customer service was fantastic and friendly. However, there’s one particular person I want to really highlight my review on. There’s a gentleman, I believe his name was Derrick or Derrell (my apologies if you’re reading this and I got your name wrong) and he’s one of the top concierge personnels. This gentleman is truly the definition of someone who does go above & beyond. Along with the chef concierge, he was able to dress up my girlfriend and I bed with roses for her birthday before we arrived. This is the place for me to book my stay whenever I come to Dallas for my military visits and personal leisure.

Had a great time at the Fairmont Dallas! I’d like to give a special shoutout to our friends Mohammed and Abraham at the lobby bar. They crafted amazing drinks and showcased spectacular Texas hospitality. Their professionalism and attentiveness made our experience truly exceptional. Cheers, and all the best!

A three-day stay over the Christmas/New Year 2024 holiday brought back memories of the Fairmont Dallas of years ago. While the decor of the lobby and rooms remains the same (some reviewers accuse it of being outdated but we like the soothing brown/grey/beige colors, the retro 1970s decor, and the expansive feel of the rooms and lobby), the small details - housekeeping, front desk registration, doorman greeting, maintenance, gift shop - have returned to their traditional high levels. The complimentary hotel limousine for short downtown trips is very welcomed, and Ron took good care of us. There are, however, still some shortcomings. The Pyramid hotel restaurant has the same menu as the lobby-bar snack menu - not exactly what you would call fine dining. Gone is the restaurant buffet breakfast which, I guess, has been replaced by their top-floor Gold Service lounge with the higher room tariffs. We'd rather spend our money on a two-room executive suite with panoramic windows overlooking Klyde Warren Park. The central location is still the hotel's best asset - close to Klyde Warren Park (nothing like a Mexican-food dinner at "Mi Cocina"), the excellent Dallas Museum of Art, the legendary downtown Neiman Marcus store (although, like every remaining US downtown department store, go on line for merchandise selection rather than for the excellent personalized service and ambiance of the brick-and-mortar store), The Eye sculpture, "The Woolworth" bar and restaurant (highly recommend), the Union Train Station for Amtrak (the only way to travel between Austin and Dallas to avoid airport hassles as well as Interstate 35 construction and trailer rigs from Mexico), and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) lines. Will we return? We have for the last more than twenty years and intend to return.

I cannot say enough good about our stay at this hotel! My two teenage granddaughters and I were in Dallas to attend a concert and we stayed overnight at the Fairmont. Valet parking attendants greeted us upon arrival, check in was seamless, our accommodations were very nice and the staff went above and beyond to be sure that we had everything we needed. The "city view room" was very pretty and very comfortable. We ate dinner in restaurant and our service was excellent and the meal was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
