The biggest negative: It's beyond the hotel's control, but the surrounding nightlife is rowdy. Consider the noise before staying. Booking Sunday-Thursday may save you, but bring ear plugs or white-noise to avoid staying up until 2:30 AM waiting for peace and quiet. Now the pleasantries: I dreamed about this hotel since I first saw it on KERA. Mother's Day Weekend 2021, my husband surprised me. We dropped our bags off early, parked, and explored the neighborhood on foot. When we returned at 4, I immediately felt a surge of excitement in the lobby. The staff were courteous and attentive, thinking of every comfort. My little girls would have expected a princess to live here, and I felt my inner-little-girl jumping up and down. The camera came out so I could relive this moment. Suite 7, was bigger than my first apartment! There was a small cheese plate waiting; we were offered champagne. It all made me feel so special and pampered. Then we noticed: bulbs burned out, exterior wood panels needing repair from wood rot and a good coat of paint, gardens needing weeding, and we didn't see any other guests. At breakfast, we had the dining room all to ourselves. If I could sum it up - sad majesty. Covid hit hard. Inside, it's so quiet where I had imagined quiet conversations and the tinkling of laughter. If you have the means, even for one night, I beg you stay here. Please give this historical manor your business. I want to come again when it's restored to peak condition.

Amazing hotel - and I travel a lot!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 18, 2020

This hotel is a step back in time to the days of true hospitality. When you walk into this elegant victorian home the manager checks you in himself, and inquires as to what kind of welcome drink you would like brought to your room. (I asked for a red - he recommended and brought me an awesome cabernet.) I got advice on where to get dinner nearby. The manager carried my bag to my room for me. The room was spotless and charming, with a fireplace and victorian decor (but also a modern TV). There was a cheese and crackers plate on the desk for me. The bathroom, also spotless, had a platter of things one might forget. Good thing since I forgot to bring my toothbrush! I rested well on the very comfortable bed, then had a delicious French breakfast and coffee before heading to my meeting. If I have to travel to Dallas again I will stay at the Hotel St. Germain!

An Absolute Gem! A Stunning And Superbly Located Hotel Offering Fabulous Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 14, 2019

The Hotel St Germain was, quite simply, stunning. A true gem. From the moment we arrived, Gary the manager could not have been more helpful or welcoming. You feel as though you are in a beautifully appointed French guesthouse somewhere fabulous in Paris. The room was spacious, magnificently appointed, huge bathroom, plenty of storage and the afternoon cheese plate and champagne was a stunning touch. Breakfast was served in the rustic garden courtyard, amid birds gently twittering. St Germain is a stone’s throw from an array of hip and happening restaurants. Great location. Could not find a fault. Loved it!

Celebrating 50th anniversary of Apollo moon landing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed July 21, 2019

We arrived about ten minutes before our reservation time. They got our name and immediately seated the four of us and were told drinks would be served immediately. Didn’t happen, yet others who were known by the servers got immediate service. No big deal, but the drinks were refreshing once they arrived. Blue in color, they were a variation on “moon drinks”. Later we had retro cheese fondue as an appetizer, which was delicious! Must mention as we entered the house, there were two standing space men along with background of stars, for picture taking. Once fondue was cleared away, we were taken into the dining room and seated so we were watching taped tv stories about this historical event. Also old interviews with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Unfortunately, guests started visiting and so it was difficult hearing. Nevertheless, it was fun to relive those times. Especially for those of us who were involved back then. Dinner started with Parsnip and celery root soup, a deconstructed Caesar salad a la UFO, the smallest piece of seared foie gras ever seen, on pain Perdue; moving on to either beef tenderloin cooked how you wanted or seared Halibut filet with Beurre Blanc sauce both served with truffles potato mousseline and haricots beans. Unfortunately both tended to be very dry and rather tasteless. The potatoes and beans were good! Dessert was chocolate and expresso galaxy cake and to finish were Mignardises. Each course had wines to match! A fun evening but not the top meal ever eaten.

Elegant Piece of French History

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed June 27, 2019

This beautiful hotel and restaurant takes its guests back to an aristocratic France with an authentic and unique feel unlike any hotel I’ve seen before. Beautiful china, large suits with spacious bathrooms, and opulently decorated rooms on the main floor make the guest feel like royalty.
