Reviews for Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh

Female guests beware

My colleague and I checked into the Stoneleigh on April 10 for a 2 night stay. We were able to check in early, changed for a work event, returned around 5:00 and left again at 6:00 p.m. Upon our return around 9:30, we entered our room to discover the TV was on, the desk chair was moved and facing the TV, remote was on the bed, someone had been laying in the bed, and said person had used the restroom and emptied their pockets in the bathroom trash can, including a metro ticket and checked luggage tag with their flight details and name. We immediately called the front desk, checked the room while they were on the phone, and packed up as quickly as possible. Once back in the lobby, the front desk informed us that there was no security on site, no cameras in the hallways, and no way for them to check key card access times to our room. She called the manager (who was not on site), no help. The manager also refused to speak with us on the phone. They said they would not charge us for the stay, but they only had one king room available and nothing else to offer. They also would not check guest records with the name of the man on the trash that was left in our room but said they did not have employees by that name. At 10:00 a night, we had to find another hotel on our own, regardless of this being a Marriott property. The receptionist called several properties to check availability, but stated we would pay directly and there was nothing they as a hotel could do. She offered to speak to the GM, from my search it seems to Stacy Thaler Martin (I contacted her on LinkedIn, but she deleted my post and never reached out). We stopped by the next day to speak to a manger, and again one was not on-site. The front desk was not aware of the situation from the night before. Fortunately, Hotel ZaZa around the corner was amazing - they too were at capacity but offered to put us in one of their Bungalows for their lowest price regular room rate. Valet was waiting for us when we arrived and personally escorted us to the separate Bungalow parking lot to make sure we got into our room and felt safe. The front desk also said they would have security monitor the Bungalow area for us throughout the night for added peace of mind. After speaking with others, we learned that we were not the first people this had happened to at that property. Management needs to do better and address the security issues in an honest and transparent way. We will never stay at this property again, and I highly recommend any female guest consider a different property as well. As of today, 3 days after we left the hotel, no one has reached out.
