Omni Dallas Hotel

My experience was extremely bad. I payed for a room I never received, and instead I got a downgrade, no explanation given, they thought I was never going to notice the room I got? when I called reception they said they were overbooked, and oversold, but that they were able to accommodate me on that room, which again was not the one I payed for. Also no monetary difference was given back, no even a free drink for their mistake. Also, someone accessed my room while I was not there, I called security and their resolution was that there is no way for them to know if some access the rooms from the interior door, no it was not housekeeping because they have no records of them opening the front door, and also these happened between 6PM and 11PM. I didn't feel secured, and that I was given a good service at all.

The room was spacious, but the housekeeping was not completed even after 5pm, so we gave up on getting the housekeeping service. Instead, we picked up fresh towels, coffee pods and other amenities from the housekeeper's cart by ourselves. Disappointed as we had a high expectation from the hotel because of "OMNI Hotels".

I cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel! The cleanliness, wonderful staff, luxurious beds, I could go on and on. I am so incredibly happy I stayed here for my first time in Dallas. The best part was Rio at the Front Desk (Rio made our first time in Dallas absolutely amazing - the most hospitable Front Desk I have ever encountered (I am in the industry so I have seen it all) Rio made us feel so welcome - not to mention put us in the most incredibly gorgeous room!!!) She is a GEM and Omni is so lucky to have her as a part of their team. Any time I visit Dallas I will be staying here!

I was over charged. The employee did not understand how to use the computer so I watched 7 people check in beside me with other employees. The person who checked me in stared at the computer and made no eye contact with me as I spoke to her. She raised her finger to quiet me as she was trying to figure out how to check me in. She handed me two pieces of paper for drinks but said nothing about what they were or where to use them. I asked for rooms on the same floor and got one room on the 12th floor and the other on the 22nd floor. I honestly just let her leave it that way because it took forever for her to figure out how to even get that done. Had to get a manager involved. The rooms are extremely dark. There were dim yellow light bulbs, dark brown walls, dark brown wood, a really dated vinyl couch, and really poor lighting in the bathroom (difficult to put on makeup with such poor lighting). The bed was clean and comfortable. I stayed at the Hilton Hall Arts one month prior and will definitely return there but this place is an absolute no!

Very friendly and helpful staff to out of towners exploring the city of Dallas for the first time. The views of the city from the rooms and the pool are amazing! Rooms are larger than expected and the bed was welcoming after long walks exploring the city. Can't wait to plan our next trip back!
