Great Stay at a Beautiful Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We spent five nights at this lovely hotel and our "prestige" room was perfect. We had a small sitting room, large beautifully decorated bedroom and a spacious, modern bathroom with two sinks, lots of counter space, a soaking tub, a separate shower and a toilet room. The breakfast buffet had anything you could possibly want. It was an easy walk to the boardwalk and beach, as well as to the restaurants and shops in town. Hotel parking was expensive (I think 20 Euros a day). On street parking was also expensive during the day but free after 9 PM. The staff was helpful and pleasant although coffee service in the morning was a little slow. We were so happy we chose the Barriere and would love to go again.

Old traditional but luxury at its best..

The hotel is old traditional but very elegant and nice. There is an air of sophistication and luxury. The hotel casino is next door . Special thanks to Ms Emilie and Ms Nicole for taking care of us (Chambre 119) and upgrading our room. Both the ladies were very humble and kind and very efficient .The service is A+ and I would definitely visit agin with my wife and daughter.Absolutely fantastic experience.

Lack of Integrity and Extortionate Charge by refusing to respond to emails or phone calls

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

The booking was unclear as it ahowed a price that I thought was related to the info I input. They have charged thousands of pounds for a 2 night trip. Absolutely disgusted that this so called 5 star hotel which my family holidayed in many years ago and enjoyed, has not responded to my emails or calls to reverse the transaction. They have taken the money and now under dispute.

Worth trying

This is a solid hotel that at times, makes you feel as if you are living in a bygone era. Stayed for 5 nights. We booked two rooms, a family suite and a double. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful & polite. Breakfast was good. The drinks were great. There was nothing actively wrong with this hotel, its age shows in some places. They didn’t consistently put the sofa bed away during the day and turn down was inconsistent. Pool was not the cleanest. The hotel is a bit of a scene. Glad we stayed once, not sure if I’d do it again during the summer season. My in-laws loved it.

Good experience, would recommend (but bar stuff undertrained)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 23, 2023

Our stay in Normandy was wonderful. The rooms are spacious ( The rooms with sea view are especially splendid!), the building itself is very impressive, the halls are unusually large - the building breathes history and has elegant ambiance. Service was very good, with concierge, valet parking, room service. We also used steaming/ironing services for a large overnight order (for wedding party) and all was done well and on time. The location is perfect, close to the beach, the center and all the shops. Also nice addition is cute bicycles available to guests to explore the city. The only issue was when a group of friends all staying in the hotel came for a late night cocktail. First we were told there were no tables (when in fact there were), then when we finally got seated there was an argument with the waiters. Not a deal breaker but unpleasant experience for a 5 star hotel. Overall I would stay here again, 100%.

We just returned from France this week. For part of our trip, we had purchased a package at the Normandy Barriere through Luxury Link. The package and the property looked very enticing, and I can truly say that the reality of the experience far exceeded our expectations! When we arrived in Deauville after our drive from Paris, there was a chilled bottle of champagne, a large plate of fruit and an assortment of sweets. The room was opulent with a bathroom to match. We felt wonderfully pampered, and the staff at the property was terrific. It was delightful leg of our trip and we will be returning to Normandy Barriere in the future.

The Normandy Barriere resort in Dauville, France, was a total delight. We went during the off-season and enjoyed the beautiful beaches and surrounding countryside virtually to ourselves. The hotel itself was gracious and very comfortable, and our suite was a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. We were so delighted with our Deauville experience that we have booked to return in the spring.
