Vintage charm and modern luxury in the heart of Denver

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I love staying at the Hotel Teatro! The location is perfect, in the heart of Denver with easy access to Larimer Square, the Performing Arts complex and the rest of Downtown Denver. Rooms are charming and well appointed. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. Although there lots of good restaurants close by, the Nickel is delicious. I really love the mix of the classic building and modern features. A perfect combination.

Sewage smell everywhere. No A/C. Terrible Hotel Mgmt!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Sewage smell throughout hotel, no A/C that works on the entire 9th floor. No water or anything in your room--not even soap for the bath. They have new management according to the desk manager who I have known for 10 years. I have been staying here for 15 years and would have given them a break, BUT, the desk manager promised he'd call back after talking to the new bosses (Sage Mgmt) and they never allowed him to call back. He had said at a minimum I shouldn't have been charged $29.00/nt for amenities in the room when he admits they now aren't allowed to give us even bottled water for the coffee pot. UGLY!!! And the sewage smell is not going away. I read the whole buiulding needs to be remodeled. This Sage company is way to cheap for that. No A/C--and it was 102 degrees. Park your own car--3-4 blocks away--UUGGHH!!! So Sad. it used to be such a cool old hotel.

Warm and friendly, great location.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I spent two nights, early in the fall season as the temperature begin to drop at night. Valerie at the front desk and Laura at the bar really were above and beyond in terms of communication, knowledge, and hospitality. The staff made sure the mood was warm and friendly, it was very pet friendly with a quick walk to the river. Teatro has such a great location to access anything downtown, including some cool hidden bars at nearby Larimer square. This is a great stay for a business trip and exploring Denver.

I'm coming back to Denver just so I can stay here again!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I recently stayed at Hotel Teatro in Denver, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The hotel has such a beautiful vintage charm—don't forget to look up at the ceiling when you come in. I loved the layout of my room; the mattress provided some great sleep. The house car was a convenient way for me to get around the area or they have bikes you can borrow! The service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help with anything I needed. Shout out to Matthew, Sami, and Natalie at the front desk. Jeff, Mau, and Blake from valet became great friends by the time I checked out. I truly felt at home during my stay and I can’t wait to return! I highly recommend Hotel Teatro for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish stay in the heart of Denver.

Stay elsewhere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I recently stayed at Hotel Teatro from 9/8-9/10. I booked this hotel specifically for the amenities included in the resort fee. When I checked in, I learned that you no longer offer a free happy hour and the restaurant, the only place the food credit can be used, was closed for dinner both days of my trip. The stated shuttle service was also unavailable. As a woman traveling alone, an onsite dining option and local transportation influences my choice of hotels. If I had known that the resort fee was a waste of money, I would have booked at a different hotel. My room smelled like sewage, it was hot and the AC couldn’t be adjusted. When I tried to contact the hotel via email, the email address was invalid.
