Forty miles by seaplane from its legendary Per AQUUM sister, Niyama Maldives is a worthy newcomer. You'll find every bit of deserted island dream fodder here – tucked-away lounge areas that invite a nap by the water, overwater bungalows, infinity pools and a turquoise-heavy color palate that blends right into the horizon – but the array of indulgent activities also attracts a hip and active crowd.

I was at Niyama with my wife for our honeymoon. It is a fruitful trip. We enjoy lots of activities provided at the hotel. We also really like like food as we tried so so many restaurants, including subsix which was a great underwater dining experience. Quality of staff is second to none. They are very well trained. They are friendly and very quick at helping us in everything. I couldn’t ask more from them. I wish to return to Niyama someday in the near future.

Really enjoyed our vacation. Beautiful facilities, spa, restaurants. Everything is spotless. Food was amazing! Staff were very helpful and accommodating. 5 Star experience all around. Highly recommend this resort. Will definitely be back!

A relatively typical (i.e. wonderful) five-star Maldivian property, although compared to other similar resorts in the area that we’ve been to, this one has more variety (and generally better quality) food choices in its many restaurants. Grounds are impeccably maintained, the sand on the beach is sparkling-white and the sea is very welcoming for a swim, although snorkelling options are quite limited as the house reef is quite remote from the beach and is only accessible by boat, ditto the sand bank on the other side of the island. Except for a few design flaws (e.g. no ventilation whatsoever in the smaller bathroom with a fixed window that can’t be opened, no outdoor shower by the pool, a bizarrely pre-programmed a/c system) everything else is in good shape and we found our beach villa a very relaxing place to stay. Our villa butler Zaid was a great host who looked well after us and made our holiday relatively carefree, as he promptly and effectively booked all the meals and activities for us throughout our stay. Bottom line - a reasonably priced (obviously by Maldivian standards) high-quality destination with modern facilities, helpful staff and excellent catering options for every taste. We’ll be back!
