Avoid tht plce for your own good

We chose Chia Laguna for our honeymoon hotel during our time in Sardinia. We had a very bad experience with that place and DON'T recommend if you are looking for a romantic place to stay.... POOR INFORMATION Firstly, the reception staff told us we can park our rented car in front of the hotel, as their car park was full and there was no other place to park, so we did and the day after, on our way back from the beach, we noticed tht our car had a dent in the back bumper. The hotel didn't have any CCTV cameras and haven't even apologized for the damage, which we assumed was cause by one of their 'beach train's. (On the drive way to the hotel, only the beach trains were allowed to stop, hence we assume it was one of theirs). STAFF Secondly, the cleaning services had either stolen or took by accident (we are not sure) my partners shorts. He left them on the bed in a clear view and when we came back from dinner the bed sheets were changed but no sign of his shorts. We've contacted the reception on the same day, they laughed in my face and pretended they cannot understand English. Since we don't speak Italian, I have no clue what the receptionist was actually saying to us. They didn't do anything about it despite us going to the reception 3 times in 3 different days. (At the end on the check out they said they can't even give us a discount onto he price for the stolen shorts...) We find it ridiculous because it was clearly their fault. We have never got them back. SPA and Swimming Pool The hotel on the website is presented as a SPA hotel, but there is no information that you can use the spa only for 2 hours during your whole stay. We were shocked to find out that info on the arrival. We booked the place for 2 weeks and couldn't use the saunas for more than 2 hours.... Shocking! The swimming pool was open only from 10 till 7 pm, which was also not mentioned while we booked the place. I have to say that the only GOOD thing about the spa was the quality of the massage. We booked two full body messages, very expensive but worth the price, so tht was indefinitely the best part of the whole place. FOOD The hotel offers a half-board option for booking, which includes breakfast and dinner in the price. The food was good, lots of variety for dinner options, however they don't tell you that they charge you for a bottle of water. The waitress just comes and asks: "still or sparkling?" And for the first 3 days we were just taking the bottle of still water until we found out that they charge you for that. Some information about tht would be good to know.... Again, very poor info about extra costs. For the next few days we took to dinner our own water bottles bought in the shop near buy. BEACH If you go to the beach, the pizza there is amazing ! We ended up going there for lunch almost every day. Apart from that - very nice views from the beach. In general, we were very disappointed with the reception staff being rude and pretending not to speak English once the problem either with out car or stolen shorts arrised. Very poor information about the extra costs and spa disappointment on the website and extremely annoying hidden costs of restaurant water... We do not recommend the hotel, absolutely gutted we even booked it, next time Airbnb seems a better option for the same price ....

Great Resort, Friendly Staff & Safe Environment

One of the best resorts I have stayed at. There is a lot of space plus swimming pools. The food is great & has a decent buffet which features great foods. The Staff are very friendly too. The Kids Club is very good & allows parents to relax for the day whilst your kids are in safe hands. The Entertainment is also good plus Bedrooms are clean & comfy. The only downside is you will need to take an hour taxi ride to the airport (Caglari) as the bus is very unreliable & takes nearly 2 hours!

We were a family of four (two adults and two children) staying in two interconnecting garden rooms. Couple of general points to note: the guests at Chia Laguna Village are predominately Italian and so a basic understanding of the language is essential as we found that the majority of staff only knew limited English. Secondly, the location of the resort is quite remote so travelling outside to explore more of Sardinia is difficult and expensive due to the relatively limited public transport/taxi options on the island. Consider hiring a car if you wish to do this. Regarding the actual resort: the garden rooms we stayed in are quite small and very basic- lacking even tea/coffee making facilities. The mattresses were incredibly hard (house keeping did add toppers to ours upon request) and the rooms over all require updating. The small gardens are at the front of the room offer very little privacy from other visitors walking around the resort. That said, the rooms were kept very clean with a high quality of daily house keeping. We stayed half board. The food choice at the default restaurant Domus was very poor. We were upon our request upgraded to the Mezze restaurant which was miles better with good quality traditional Sardinian food- highly recommend visitors request the same. The resort has other high quality restaurants specialising in seafood on site and at the sister Conrad and Baia hotels which are also very good. Drinks are expensive with a small bottle of water at €4. There is a small supermarket 5mins walk from the resort called Sardissimo which is excellent for both necessities like water but also traditional Sardinian cold meats, pasta and other delicacies. The local beach is pretty good and easily accessible via the resorts ‘doppo’ train which runs every 15mins. Sun loungers are basic and inferior to the ones reserved for guests of the Conrad hotel, but plenty of them. Overall a good place to stay depending on your expectations. We were very much assisted by our travel agent rep who liaised with management to resolve issues we encountered. If you won’t have a rep then learn Italian!!

We have just returned from a fantastic week away....2 couples.....we can only highly praise this resort. The staff are without exception amazing and so friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless and although a bit small had everything we needed. The food was lovely and plenty of choice with a barbeque option nightly. The beach is lovely and easily accessible by the regular dotto train, the pool is fantastic and no rush for loungers with lovely towels provided and the hotel entertainment was very good. Thank you Chia Laguna for the most relaxing wonderful holiday...we are looking forward to returning ☺️
