Booked hotel (bed & breakfast) and flights from the UK through Expedia which meant (given my account status I think) we were entitled (if available) to a free room upgrade (tho I had already paid for a room with a sea view) – and we were allocated a deluxe room on the top (12th ) floor, also with a complimentary bottle of wine thrown in. We were shown to our room by the helpful receptionist who gave us a brief run down of all the facilities. We were offered a drink at check-in which was a nice touch. The room had a simply stunning view looking towards the Old town area. Having seen some other challenging reviews about the condition of the rooms in the hotel, ours was thankfully in good condition albeit with a leaky sink tap. Weirdly, at the end of the bed, the large TV slightly obscured the amazing view – I assumed this was because the original TV would have disappeared into the bed frame but must be no longer functional. The breakfast offer was excellent, one of the best we have seen – great range of options (incl. fizz), and hot drinks made on request (ie a decent cappuccino or cup of tea rather than one from a machine). We were able to sit outside on the balcony each day which was lovely. Service from the team was attentive, tho there were sometimes piles of unsightly dirty plates on the various nearby stations which could have been easily avoided The spa area and the outside area by the sea was great – we had dinner in the fish restaurant at this location on the first night. The chef went out of her way to speak to my wife to arrange a vegetarian alternative, and the food was reasonably good. However, the service felt a little ill-prepared despite only a few tables eg waiter using towels rather than blankets for some guests for warmth, plates being collected on a trolley, not enough heaters – I would have expected a ‘slicker’ service given the reputation of the restaurant and it didn’t feel 5-star Overall, we loved the hotel and its location (25-min pleasant walk to the old town), and would recommend it to others without hesitation. Would suggest some small improvements could make the experience feel more 5-star, such as: More staff in the lobby-level bar/balcony – it would have been easy to position someone to take drinks/food orders but almost every occasion we had to go inside to the bar Overall service from the waiting staff was a bit patchy (see above) and could be easily sorted The food options at the beach-level bar were virtually non-existent for vegetarians (they were better in the lobby-level bar) – I would have expected some decent options

Stayed in sea facing superior room. Great space , balcony , king bed , only bed a little on the soft side. Otherwise excellent. Buffet breakfast and dinner options outstanding, staff friendly , spa excellent , swim in the beautiful Adriatic straight from the hotel deck . Would stay here again for sure.

Great location, near the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Staff was very kind and helpful. A special thanks to receptionist Karlo (who has an impressive knowledge of the history of Dubrovnik), chief cook Revindran and his team, and all the friendly waiters and waitresses in the restaurant. Food was exceptionnaly good, fresh and with much variation. On the downside, the accomodation is in need of a renovation. The floor tiles in our room were loose, the showers and toilets in the spa area were not of the level you would expect from a Premium 5 star hotel.

We arrived at 2.30 pm greeted by porter and offered a welcome drink. Check-in was smooth and efficient then porter showed us to our room explaining all the hotel facilities and location. Room was modern and clean with a large balcony looking out over the beautiful coastline. Robes and slippers provided with ample good quality toiletries etc. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice of items (including prosecco) and good quality. Only negative was the tea/coffee service which we found confusing and inconsistent - sometimes orders were taken, but often service was slow or non-existent. Gluten free area with bread and croissants. Cereal was available on request. We tried the poolbar, food and drink was expensive so we didn't use. This also applies to the main lobbybar and in our opinion this makes the atmosphere a bit sterile (although this was at end of season). Large heated indoor pool was lovely. Excellent spa facilities. Entrance to sea was by a ladder from lower decking.
